I typed this chapter with new fake nails, and it was close to impossible.

I stroked Oak's smooth skin as I ranted to him. He quietly listened to every word.
"I wish I could just come out and tell people about our relationship. They just wouldn't get it. They'd think I'm insane. I can't even tell my own parents."
I sighed and fell asleep in Oak's non-existent arms.

The next day Chris trailed behind me as I walked to science.
"Hey, it's totally cool that you said no," he said with a charming smile "But I was just wondering why you didn't want to? Do you have a boyfriend or is it something about me?"
My face paled. He could not find out about Oak.
"Hey, nevermind! It's not important." Chris assured
"No-um. It's... Complicated."
It wasn't that complicated. I had a boyfriend that I didn't want people to know about.
"That's okay. Sorry for bringing it up."
"It's fine. Actually, I've changed my mind, I'd love to go on a date with you."
As soon as it came from my mouth, I wanted to curl up in a ball and die. Why did I say that, why did I say that.
Chris' face lit up and the biggest grin appeared on his face.
"Really?" he asked
Like I could say no. With a gulp, I nodded.
"How about Bunnings? We can get a snag!" He exclaimed excitedly
"Yeah, I'd love that..." I choked
Ohhh fun.
