Ross was co-operative this morning, which I appreciated. With a pat, I left him in the school enclosure.
When I got inside school, I was shocked at the amount of waves I received. Someone even shouted "you're an inspiration!". Yesterday these people were mocking me and laughing at me, and now I was there hero? I found it a little confusing.
By first lunch, I was already sick of the crowd surrounding me everywhere Oak and I went. Luckily though, my principal called for me across the tennis courts. I got up, taking Oak with me.
She greeted me with a smile.
"Well that's a first," I murmured
"Madelyn- can I call you Maddie?"
"Um, yeah sure..."
"Anyway, Maddie, I was wondering if Oak would like to join a sports team? There is a spot open on the soccer team."
Oh, how the tables have turned. I looked at Oak for the A-OK.
"He'd love that. What uh position?"
"Goalie of course,"
I couldn't believe how generous she was. Maybe she wasn't the witch I accused her of being.
After saying thank you about five times, I ran back to the group, kissing Oak.
