"Hey Madelyn..."
I'd been crying for about half an hour now and no one had come to see me. Until now.
"Go away Chris." I snapped
Instead he chose to sit next to me.
"You know... I'm proud of you for telling everyone about Oak. You're the bravest person I know."
I sniffled and he wiped a tear from my cheek. Why was he helping me? I had rejected him. I knew this was a trick. No one would be so nice.
"You're a liar. Go away." I growled at him
He looked hurt. Nevertheless, he still stayed beside me. I couldn't understand why he was being so kind.
"Maddie, I will punch the next person who mocks you."
"I doubt it," I mumbled with a small laugh
"I'm not joking. I love you, and I'm not going to let anyone tease you."
So he didn't just hear me say I had a boyfriend? That I was objectum sexual?? I ugh'd in my mind.
"Well Chris. You can defend me all you like, but I will never love you back."
