A crowd surrounded me, pestering me with questions about what happened with Chris.
"Why'd you lie to Chris?"
"What did Chris do to you?"
"Do you know how in love he is with you?"
"Is there another man?"
"OoOooo Maddie has a crush!"
"Or a boyfriend!"
This was giving me a headache.
"Stop!" I screamed at them
Everyone went silent, shocked at my sudden outburst.
I took a deep breath and jumped on the table. It was time to tell the truth.
"Yes! I have a boyfriend! His name is Oak and don't snicker at his name. Oak and I have been dating for quite a while now and it's the best love I've ever experienced. In fact, Oak is coming to this very school tomorrow. I'm sure he'll be happy to meet you all."
"That's the reason I don't really want to be with Chris. Oak is my soul mate, my true love."
I jumped off the table and flicked my hair.
"I've gotta go to toe wrestling now. See you later, assholes."
