Kara's P.O.V.

"Lena should be home, I know she took the day off," I say to Alex and Maggie as I unlock the door to the apartment I share with Lena.

"It's good that she's taking a break. I know how stressful work is for her," Alex replies sympathetically and I nod, finally unlocking the door and pushing it open. We all walk in together and a mixture of delicious scents hit me right as we walk in. The smells of vanilla, chocolate, cinnamon, and so much more waft through the apartment and I take a deep breath in, relaxed by the smell of fresh baked goods.

"What's that smell?" Maggie asks curiously and I smile, knowing it's the outcome of Lena being stressed. Without answering, I saunter to the kitchen, Alex and Maggie following close behind me.

A small smile forms on my lips as I take in all the baked goods cooling on pretty much every surface of the kitchen counters. Cupcakes, brownies, cinnamon rolls, cakes, tarts, pies, and lots of cookies are aligned in neat rows on cooling racks that line the counters. And in the center of the kitchen, sitting on the ground with flour all over her clothes and munching contently on a cookie, is Lena.

"What the..." Alex trails off, looking around the kitchen in a mixture of wonder, awe, and confusion, "I've never seen this many types of desserts all in the same place before! Is she alright?" Alex asks, her eyes shifting to Lena who hasn't even bothered to acknowledge our presence.

"Yeah, Lena bakes when she's stressed," I shrug it off, use to it since it happens quite frequently. "I'll get you a bag so you can take some of this home. Lena is a really good baker."

I bustle around the kitchen, choosing items that have cooled enough for me to move them. I pat Lena gently on the head as I walk by her, letting a small smile stay on my lips. I fill two large ziplock bags full of cookie, tarts, and brownies and I get separate containers for the cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, and pieces of pies and cakes. I pile the two bags and several plastic containers into my arms and hand them over to Alex since Maggie is preoccupied trying to taste every single thing.

"Could I get a grocery bag for this?" Alex asks, struggling not to drop any of the things I handed to her. I nod, grabbing a bag from the pantry and grabbing all the treats out of Alex's hands and placing them in the bag, taking care to make sure nothing gets crushed. Satisfied with my handy work, I hand it back to her.

I grab a blueberry tart from one of the trays and plop myself down next to Lena, munching on our treats together in silence. Alex and Maggie join us together, sitting side by side facing us. We sit like that for a long time, quietly enjoying the things Lena baked.
