Alex's P.O.V.
"I don't know why I agreed to this," Maggie grumbles, clumsily tying up her ice skates.
"Because you love me?" I suggest, watching her because I finished getting my own skates on several minutes ago. I've been begging Maggie to come ice skating with me since the beginning of our relationship. I find it so odd that she grew up in freezing Nebraska and has not once gone ice skating. Spending time at this rink is one of my favorite things to do so sharing it with my girlfriend is going to be fun.
"Right, I forgot about that," Maggie's teases absently as she finishes lacing her skates up. For the next ten minutes, Maggie stalls - walking extra, extra slowly in her skates and taking the longest swig of water possible - and I let her. We'll get on the ice eventually.
Once we finally make it into the rink and actually get on the ice, Maggie is glued to my side. She squeals while getting on and then keeps her hand tightly clamped on my arm. I giggle and try to help with the proper form but she continues to squeal and mostly stay in one place. Eventually, I gently pry her fingers off my arm, shake it out a little bit, and start skating circles around her. Which is equally amusing and dizzying - for both of us.
"Show off!" Maggie rolls her eyes, laughing slightly. I do a tight spin, effectively putting me backwards. Skating that way, I wink at her and easily make a gap of twenty feet between us.
Maggie continues to skid around the ice rink like a newborn deer as I do a few laps to loosen up. When I come back around on the third time, she glares at me. "I hate you."
Without a word, I grab Maggie's hand and drag her behind me. It's a little slower than I'm used to and a lot less smooth, but I effectively spin her around. She shrieks and giggles and she spins, continuing to laugh as I let go off her hand.
"Come on, it's not that hard. It's very similar to rollerblading," I urge, watching as she almost falls but barely saves herself.
"I don't know how to rollerblade, either!" She protests, but continues to try to skate anyway.
"Welp, you're screwed." I shrug as Maggie shoved me slightly. Pretending to stumble, I gasp dramatically. "Hey! Careful... I don't want you to fall down!" Laughing, I skate away from my girlfriend but eventually meet back up with her when I notice she's resorted to using the wall as stabilization.
"Don't leave me, this is boring without you!" She begs, her lips pouted ever so slightly. I give in and nod, grabbing her hand once again. We skate at a slower speed and once we get into the groove of thing, I turn to her.
"So... rollerblading next weekend?"
