*Norman's P.O.V.*
"Are you-"
"No," She cuts me off. "Don't talk to me." She doesn't look at me. She continues to stare out that fucking window like she's done for two hours straight.
"Danielle," I place my hand under her chin and pull her face towards me. "I know you have to pee, and you're probably hungry, you just don't want to admit it," She snatches her face out of my hold and stares back out the window. "God dammit, Danielle!" I shout and hit the steering wheel. "Why are you so fucking annoying!" She turns to face me.
"I'm annoying? I'm annoying! Fuck you! You're the one who set me up so that I'd have to come with you!" She shouts back. "You're the one who cheated on me! You're the one who left for New York and didn't say shit! You're the one who has a drug problem and doesn't know how to stop! You're the one who went and slept with anything that had a vagina! You're the one who killed two people! You're the reason these people are after us! Everything that has happened is your fault! Your fault! So don't tell me that I'm annoying, Norman Mark Reedus, if anyone is annoying, it's you!" I narrow my eyes at her and shake my head.
"Don't even go there! Do not tell me that all of this is my fault!"
"Then who's fault is is, Norman? Huh? Because I'd love to know!" She closes her eyes. "I want to sleep." She says calmly." And yes, I am very hungry." How does someone go from shouting to peaceful in a matter of seconds?
"Okay," I nod. "What do you want to eat?" She shrugs her shoulders. "McDonald's? There's one on this exit. We'll stop at the Walmart and get you something to sleep in and a couple of pairs of clothes." She nods but doesn't say anything. "We'll get a room at a motel, too." I nod. "With two beds." I emphasis the 'two' and she nods.
"You don't have to get two beds," She looks at me with sincere eyes. "I'm okay to sleep with you. I know I shouldn't be, but I don't give a fuck anymore," She shakes her head and sighs. "I want to sleep with you." She gives a small smile and on the inside I'm on my hands and knees thanking God that she wants to be near me again, that she wants to be with me.
*
"What room did we get?" She asks, grabbing her Walmart bags from the back seat.
"Room one forty-two," She nods and I smile. "I got a two-bed room." She gives me a look and I shake my head. "I didn't mean it like that, Danielle, I just don't want to make you more uncomfortable than you already are. So, if you don't want to sleep with me, you don't have to," Her mouth makes an 'o' shape.
"This is us," She slides the key card in the slot and it turns green, she quickly opens the door and a cold chill hits us.
"It's a bit cold in here," She nods quickly in agreement.
"Yeah, it is," Her teeth chatter together. I exhale in relief. She hasn't spoken a word to me in a while, only head nods. "I'm going to get in a hot shower while you try to get it warm in here, okay?" She tilts her head to one side and I tilt my chin up at her, telling her that was fine.
"After you fix that-" She shakes her head. "Nevermind," She bites her lip and closes the bathroom door.
I finally fix the air and the room begins to warm up. Maybe I should- no, that would be wrong. But I want to, I really want to. Maybe she wants to. All she can do is tell me no, plus there's another bed, I can't, she won't.
Before I can think about it anymore, she emerges from the bathroom wrapped in a towel that barely covers her. I quickly look away and she does the same.
"Sorry, I should have gotten dressed in there, but I forgot my clothes,"
"You didn't do anything wrong, Danielle," She sits on the bed and shivers. "It's still a little cold in here, sorry,"
"I know, but it's warmer than it was," She stands up, facing her back towards me. She drops the towel and it falls to the floor. I'm mesmerized. My mouth falls agape and it's taking every bit of energy to keep my hands off of her. She grabs a pair of panties from her Walmart bag and one of my t-shirt's and slips both on quickly.
"I don't even know why you bought me something to sleep in," She laughs softly. "I'm tired of fighting with you, Norman," Her face turns serious. "I was suppose to go see you sometime next week, ya know," She bites her lip, bringing her hand to her forehead.
"For what?" I ask, taking a set next to her.
"Tony," She slowly makes eye contact with me. "He wanted me to tell you that I didn't want to see you anymore, that I never wanted anything else to do with you,"
"Oh," Tony. Why is it always Tony? Why is he even in California?
"Yeah," She stands up on the bed and begins to jump up and down. A giggle escapes her lips and I begin to laugh.
"What are you doing?" I say in between laughs.
"Well, If I'm going to be kidnapped, I might as well make the best out of it,"
"I didn't kidnap you," I smirk at her.
"Technically, you did, but I want to be here or I would have left already. I would have called someone to come get me, but I didn't. I want to work on us, Norm, I want to be with you again," She smirks back at me. "You better hold me tight tonight, Mr. Reedus, I just might run away,"
"I'd find you. I'll always find you," She stops jumping and plops down beside me.
"I know," She smiles and moves to my lap.
"Danielle, I don't this is such a good idea, I don't think having sex is going to fix anything between us, if anything it's going to make everything harder," She presses her lips to mine, ignoring every word that has just been spoken. She reaches down and grabs the hem of her shirt, pulling it over her head.
"I don't care, Norman, I stopped caring along time ago. I haven't cared since the night you left me. Please, touch me,"
"Baby, it would be an honor,"
