Song: Will I Ever Care? By VELVETEARS

Michael says, "In an office, when you are ranking people, manager is higher than captain. On a boat, who knows? It's nebulose."
———
Michael stands at the front of the boat and yells, "Hey, look! I'm king of the world!"
Jim makes eye contact and points to his watch.
———
Jac sits across Creed at a table on the boat. "Can't wait to see what Micheal has prepared," Jac says with a smile.
"Yeah, Bossman makes it crazy."
Jac laughs slightly at Creed, "Jeez old man, you're crazy."
He smiles and lightly slaps her hand, "Hey! This old man is why you're alive!"
"Dad!" Her eyes widen as she looks around to make sure no one heard.
———
Captain Jack announces, "Okay, all right! Welcome aboard! I am your captain, Captain Jack."
Michael cuts in, "And I am the regional manager of Dunder-Mifflin, Michael Scott. Welcome, welcome!"
"Okay! So..."
Michael copies, "Okay! So..."
Captain Jack gives Micheal a stern look, "Please. The life preservers."
"Right."
Captain Jack points to the sides, "They are located underneath the seats, all along the border of the boat."
"But don't worry, you are not going to be needing life preservers tonight," Micheal adds.
Captain Jack turns to him, "Well, we might, okay? Please let me finish, okay? Thank you. So, the Coast Guard requires that I tell you where the safety exits are. On this ship, it's very easy. Anywhere over the side," Dwight laughs loudly in the back ground, "Not only am I your ship captain, I am also your party captain! Whoo! We're gonna get it going in just a few minutes here..."
Michael yells out, "I'm your party captain too! And you are gonna put on your dancing shoes later on! So we are gonna..."
Captain Jack turns to Micheal beginning to get very annoyed, "Okay, Michael, if you don't mind..."
"Rock it!"
"Please, okay?"
"If the boat's a-rockin', don't come knockin'!"
"Michael."
Michael turns to him, "Yep."
"Your company's employees are not the only people on the boat tonight, okay?" Captain Jack says to him.
"We're all gonna have a good time tonight!"
Captain Jack says, "Why don't you let me and my crew do our job. You just sit back and have a good time. All right?"
"Hm? Okay. Yep," Micheal says seeming slightly mad.
———
Katy, Pam, Jim, and Roy are sitting at a table together. Katy says, "You guys, it's like we're in high school and we're at the cool table. Right?" Roy agrees, "Pam, were you a cheerleader?" Katy asks.
"No, she was totally Miss Artsy-Fartsy in high school. She wore the turtleneck and everything!" Roy replies for her.
Katy laughs, "That's hilarious."
Jim makes a confused face, "It's not hilarious, but..."
Roy asks Katy, "Where did you go to school?"
"Bishop O'Hara."
Roy asks amazed, "Piss slop who cares-a? We played you! You... you really look familiar. Did you... you cheered for them, didn't you?"
Jim furrows his brows, "Um, no."
Katy turns to Jim, "Yes, I did!" She begins chanting, "A-W-E-S-O-M-E! Awesome! Awesome is what we are! We're the football superstars! A-W-E-S-O-M-E!"
During this Pam pokes fun at it to Jim. "I remember that! We crushed you like 42-10!" Roy says.
———
Jac sits next to Jim, Dwight, Micheal, and Captain Jack at the bar. "How long have you been captain of this boat?" Jac asks.
"Uh goin in six years now."
"Woah," Jac says, "have you ever been in any dangerous situations?"
"One time a little girl fell over the railing, her mom said she couldn't swim. I dove in and got the girl," Captain Jack says looking to each person as he explains.
"Wow," Dwight says, "That's brave."
"Thanks."
"I bet you meet a lot of pretty women," Micheal says.
"Eh, not really," Captain Jack turns towards Jac, "the prettiest one is right here."
Jac blushes slightly and looks at her hands on the counter, causing some hair to fall into her eyes. Captain Jack tucks the hair behind her ear. She smiles and quietly says thank you, grabbing her beer and walking away. The camera turns to Jim who has his fingers under his chin looking slightly angry, "Ya know, you probably shouldn't touch a lady without her permission."
Captain Jack turns to him and shrugs, "She seemed fine with it.
"Yeah Jim. Duh," Dwight says.
Jim raises his eyebrows. Dwight notes this and decides to ask Jim about it.
———
Dwight walks after Jim as he leaves the bar. Dwight grabs Jim's shoulder, "Hey, can we talk for a second?"
"Dwight no. Now is not-"
"God Jim, come on," Dwight pulls Jim through the door to go out on the deck.
"Okay, okay, what?" Jim asks annoyed.
"Do you have sexual feelings towards Jac?"
Jim looks astonished, "Um what?"
"Do you have feelings for Jac?"
"Dwight look man, I don't have 'sexual feelings' for Jac. She's just my best friend," Jim replies.
Dwight raises his brows, "Thats not what your face and behavior said in there."
Jim stumbles in his response slightly, "Dwight that was just because I didn't.. I didn't think it was right for Captain Jack to touch her."
Dwight sighs and mumbles, "God. You're an idiot."
Dwight walks away leaving Jim confused.
———
Jac is sitting on the upper deck looking out at the waves. She deeply inhales the lake scent. This brings back memories of her mother taking her on boat trips to St. James Park Lake. They would rent a boat and spend a whole day on the water. Fishing, swimming, they always did whatever Jac wanted. Her mother was an amazing person, but she had her demons. Just like everyone else. Someone sat on the bench beside her, "Ya know, there's a party going on downstairs..."
Jac smiles, "Oh Jim, you know I'm not one for parties."
"I know," he replies, "but... there's alcohol and dancing which I know you like."
Jac laughs, "I do not like dancing."
"I know you do! That party of my friends that I took you to we danced!"
She smiles, but it seems oddly sad, "That was different that was just me and you outside.."
The band had been playing a upbeat song while they were talking. Jim stands up and hold his hand out. When she just raises her eyebrow he goes "Well let's dance like that again."
Jac smiles and takes his hand. They grab hands and we're dancing around almost shyly. Then as Jac got more into it they began to dance like they were at a middle school dance. Their ridiculous dance moves made one another laugh. Suddenly the band moved into a slower song. Jim looked at her face and saw a hopeful look in her eyes. He pulled their hands up behind his neck, leaving her hands there, and put his hands on her hips. They slowly swayed to the music, Jac stayed looking down at their feet. Jim looked down at her, he realized then how her nose turns slightly red when she's blushing, and that she has little freckles around her eyes. Jac peeks up and him and mumbles, "Why're you smiling like that?"
He raises his eyebrows, "I'm not smiling like anything."
Jac giggles a little, "You have that little smile that you get when you think I'm not looking."
"Wow, Williams," Jim laughs, "you stare at me? That's creepy."
"You were just staring at me Halpert!"
"That-that's different..."
"How?"
"Um..." Jim can't think of what to say.
Jac looks into his eyes. They begin to lean towards each other, then boat rocks making Jac almost fall. Jim catches her and pulls her close to him, accidentally connecting his lips with her forehead. She blushes and looks down, "Thanks for catching me."
"O-oh yeah no problem."
They slowly let go of each other, Jim's hands lingering on her forearms. Jac tucks a hair behind her ear, "I should probably go back in, Creed is looking for me I bet."
She mumbles a goodbye and starts to leave. She stops and turns back around. She walks quickly to him and kisses his cheek then runs to the door to get inside. Jim turns around and watches her go. He rubs the back of his neck and smiles to himself a little. He puts his hands on the rails, taking a deep breath. He looks out over the water. If only things were easier....
———
Jac goes back inside the boat with a big smile, she sits down across from Creed. "What's the smile for slick?"
She laughs a little and says, "Nothing." Even though the man of her dreams almost just kissed her.
———
Micheal sits down across from Brenda, "Having fun?"
"Yeah," she replies, "Everybody's really nice."
Michael smiles, "Good. Well, that is what Scranton is all about. Not like you New Yawkers."
Brenda clears her throat slightly, "When are you going to start the presentation?" Michael replies, "Well, we already sort of started it back at the office and on the dock with the Gilligan thing, so..," then quickly changes his mind, "right now, I was thinking. Yes. Okay, listen up all you Dunder-Mifflinites! I would like to talk to you all about life preservers. Now, one important life preserver in business is IT support."
Captain Jack takes the mike from him, "Not now, Mike, we're doing the limbo! That's right, partiers, it's time to limbo, limbo, limbo!"
Everyone cheers. Captain Jack calls out, "All right! I need a volunteer to come up here and hold my stick. Who's it gonna be?"
Meredith replies, "Me."
Dwight runs up and takes the stick, "Me! Me, me, me."
Captain Jack says, "Uh... usually it's a woman."
Dwight simple replies, "I'm stronger."
"Hey, I got an idea! How would you like to steer the ship, Dwight?" Captain jack says to get Dwight to leave.
———
"Keep us on a steady course, keep a sharp eye out," Captain Jack says, showing Dwight the fake steering wheel, "I'm counting on you!"
With a pat on Dwight's back, Captain Jack leaves to go back to the party.
———
Dwight says while "steering" the ship, " I was the youngest pilot in Pan Am history. When I was four, the pilot let me ride in the cockpit and fly the plane with him. And I was four. And I was great. And I would have landed it, but my dad wanted us to go back to our seats."
———
Captain Jack is standing on the band platform, "All right, all right, that was great! Now it's time for the dance contest!"
Micheal jumps on stage and takes the microphone, "But before that, I have to do my presentation."
Captain Jack shoulders Micheal out of the way a little and takes the mic, "Nope! Dance contest!"
The band begins playing a funky beat and Micheal looks annoyed, "All right, we will have a motivational dance contest!" Micheal hops off the stage and slaps his knees to the beat of the music," Yeah okay, dancing! It is a primal art form used in ancient times to express yourself with the body and communicate!"
