Kacey's POV
"Lucas James! Hurry up! You're going to be late for school!" I yelled up the stairs. "Coming!" Luke came down stairs. He looked just like Scott.
As soon as Luke was done eating he got his bookbag and got on the bus for school. "He's growing up too fast." I whined as Scott and sat down on the couch. "Yeah. I know." Scott said. "You're so...ugh." I joked. "Thanks so much, babe." he smiled at me.
We were cuddling and watching a movie when the phone started ringing. I got up and answered the phone.
*phone convo*
K: Hello?
Luke's Teacher: Hi. This is Lucas' teacher. Luke has been acting strange lately. Is everything ok at home?
K: Yes, of course.
LT: Okay, well. Talk with him tonight maybe.
K: Definitely.
LT: Thanks, bye.
K: Bye.
*end of convo*
I hung up the phone. "He is in so much trouble." I said sitting back down on the couch. "Who?" Scott asked. "Your son." I said. "Why? What'd he do?" he asked. "He's been acting up in school." I said and picked up phone. "You're going to yell at him?" he asked. "No, but my dad is." I dialed Dad's number in and put my phone to my ear. "Hey, Dad. Do you and Daddy think you could come over?" I asked. "Yeah, sure. Be over in a bit." he said and hung up.
"Luke's bus is here." I said looking out the window. "Your people are here." Scott said. "Luke, come here." I said sternly. "Yes mommy?" Luke said. "We need to talk." I said. Luke looked over and gave a nasty look to my parents' car. "Don't do that." I said. He looked back to me and nodded.
Me, Luke, Dad and Daddy walked inside to Scott. "What are we going to talk about?" Luke asked as we all sat down on the couch. "Your teacher called. She said you've been acting strange. What's that about?" Scott said. "Its only one kid." Luke said. "Why?" I asked. "His parents are....well...I can't say." Luke said. "Well, why don't you whisper it into my ear." I suggested. Luke nodded and put his lips to my ear. "His parents are gay. Isn't that stupid?" he whispered. "Lucas!" I yelled. "Well, its true!" he said. "Why don't you tell your grandparents what you just told me." I said. "Ew." he said and walked away. "Room. Now." I said.
I didn't even want to talk to anyone.
I walked upstairs to me and Scott's room and started crying. I hadn't realized Scott walked in until I felt him holding me. "Sh. Its ok." he said. "No, its not ok. Our son's homophobic!" I yelled. "Hey. Calm down." Scott said. "What if he stops caring about my parents?!" I said. I felt another pair of hands on me. "Kacey, hun." I heard my Daddy's sweet voice. "I'm such a bad mother." I cried into his chest. "It'll be ok. I promise." he said.
Promises weren't meant to broken and that's what happening.
