General POV

Richie slowly and quietly pulled open Alex's window to where he could get in easily.

He put his left foot in swiftly. Of course, Alex noticed this. Seriously, who wouldn't notice a black vans shoe just appear at your window. She quietly and cautiously watched until the body was in view up to the torso.

She quickly pulled the rest of the body in and without thinking, she pinned whoever it was to her bed. She obviously didn't know it was Richie, but when she saw him, her eyes widened. Richie did an awkward smile, not only because he came suddenly but because of their position, which Alex was on top of him.

Alex released a breathy, awkward laugh before quickly getting off of Richie, who was also very awkward and confused. "Sorry, reflexes" Alex walked over to her door before shutting it.

"I don't mind" Richie smirked, immediately getting the usual smack on the arm. "Ow" he mumbled.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" Alex whispered due to her family's hatred for curse words. "I can't go back to my house... not today" he sighs, fiddling with his thumbs on his lap. "Sooo... I was wondering if I could crash here tonight" he shrugs with a stupid smile on his face.

Alex thinks for a minute before mumbling a quick "fine". Richies stupid smile grows even wider at Alex's response.

Richie stands up as Alex sits back down on her bed, her not-diary laying right beside her. "What's this?" Richie tries sneaking his hand to grab the book but before he could get it, Alex had snatched it from its spot.

"I-it's nothing" she says calmly but unconvincing to Richie. She quickly tucks it in between two folded comforters in her closet, making sure Richie didn't see where it went. But, Richie being the stupid snoopy kid that always has to know what's going on, did see where she put it. He mentally noted to maybe skim through it later on.

He nods although he knows she's lying. She sits next go him on her bed and they stay, slowly becoming drowned in the silence. She fiddles with her thumbs, a thought coming to her mind.

"Uh hey Richie, were you kidding when you said you didn't see the- um the..." Alex trails off as if it's forbidden to say. "the clown" she says in a small whisper, all of the memories of it coming back to mind as she stares blankly at the carpet floor. She lets out a breath that she didn't know she was holding.

"Actually no, for once I wasn't kidding. I never saw a clown" he says, his voice sounding as if trying to lighten up the dull mood, keeping his eyes down but stealing a glance of her every so often.

Her eyes furrow together. How did everyone except for him see it? It made no sense at all. At least now she knew she wasn't completely crazy. As much as she was confused as questions popped up in her head one by one, she most of all wanted to drop the subject and get some sleep, which she hasn't really been getting recently due to her constant nightmares of- well, you know... it.

Richie inhaled and stood up after what seemed like forever of silence and randomly darted his eyes in the direction of her desk, which was on the opposite side of the room. It was homemade from her grandfather, painted black and decorated with white and yellow stars, purple stripes scattered all over it.He remembers it perfectly, from when he last stumbled in to sleep over due to trouble with... he wouldn't tell her.

"So, What am I going to do with you?" Alex jumps up from the bed and turning to Richie with her thinking face. She has a ton of family which equals to no extra rooms or mattresses. Richie, practically reading her mind, coughs awkwardly. "Th-there's only one bed..." he stutters out with the smallest bit of a smile on his face. "Yeah no shit" Alex laughs, Richie letting out a laugh like her with a smirk, earning him a tackle to the floor, giggles escaping both of their lips.

Just a few minutes later they are both laid out on the carpet floor like the day of the rock war, lost in their own thoughts after a quite long conversation- well, it was definitely an argument, but whatever. A conversation about wether different dimensions are real or not. It was a very random topic but Alex insisted that they were real although Richie was slightly disagreeing with her.

Alex sat up and looked at Richie, a look of disappointment and future regret present on her face. She definitely did not want Richie to stay over in her house let alone sleep in the same bed as him.

She sighed and rubbed her eyes. "Ugh, alright I'm fucking tired so I'm gonna go to sleep" she groans, immediately jumping on the bed and pulling the covers over herself. "Yeah me too" Richie gets up from the floor and awkwardly sits on the corner of the bed, opposite of where Alex now laid by the window. He put his head down on the pillows and tried getting comfortable despite all of the awkward tension floating around.

Facing opposite of each other, they both actually fell asleep after a couple of minutes, though that is not very normal for Alex lately due to her nightmares.

They were peacefully sleeping, until Richie let out a weird noise. A snore mixed with mumbled words that Alex couldn't make out. She immediately kicked him under the covers for waking her up.

A few minutes later they were asleep again, this time it was most likely going to last longer than the first.

Time ticked by, everyone in the house was sound asleep in their own little dreams. Everything was so peaceful. Suddenly, Richie shifted and faced Alex's back and eventually Alex did the same, staring at each other but not really.

Unknowingly, Alex scooted a little closer to the middle of the bed, practically touching noses with Richie.

I guess Sleeping over wasn't such a bad idea after all.
