"Eli," Tiffany gasped, I opened my eyes to see her face and she looked as overwhelmed as I did, before I could ask her why I was here she walked off talking about she was going to go get a doctor. I waited for her looking around the room and even that hurt. It felt like my ass got hit by a bus.

A few seconds later who I assumed was the doctor and a nurse came in.

"Eli," the doctor greeted me, "Your friends told me that's what you prefer to be called and might I add you have a lot of them. It's nice to finally meet you after two months and," he picked up the chart at the end of my bed, "four days. I'm Dr. Manning."

"What," I tried to speak but my voice was raspy and dry, I even tried sitting up but it hurt to much.

"Don't move. There will be plenty time for that," the nurse advised me. I looked towards the door as Tiffany walked back in, she looked like she had just got done crying and she looked like she was ready to pop any day now.

"You were in a coma for a long while and I'm sure you have questions but right now I need to examine you and ask you a few questions."

I couldn't believe what I was hearing, two months I had been in here. I thought about evey thing I must have missed and thought how worried everyone must have been.

"I'm sure your throat is dry," the nurse handed me a cup of water with a straw and held it out towards me so I could drink. Even that hurt to do but I felt better once I wad done.

"Now I'm going to examine you but I don't want you to try and speak yet. When I ask you a question I want you to blink once for yes and blink twice for no. Do you understand?"

I blinked my eyes once to say yes and he started examining me like he said. Asking me to rate my pain, lifting and touching different parts of my body. As he did that I just hoped that everything checked out, I had never been in so much pain in my life.

"Everything appears to be but we might need to run a few more extensive tests now that your up. Most of your injuries have healed up but as you can see your arm is still in a cast. It's healed up nicely and we just took the cast off two weeks ago. Now I'm sure you have questions, take your time."

"What happened to me?"

"You got in a bad car accident. You broke your arm, a severe break and along with that you suffered from some serious cuts and bruising. Likely from your car flipping and flying and the flying glass. Your most severe injury though was your head injury. You didn't suffer from any open head wounds but the force of impact caused your brain to collide against the internal hard bone of your skull. You suffered from brain bruising and a brain hemorrhage. With the accident impact if you didn't have your seat belt on it was very likely you could have suffered from major blunt force trauma and passed away."

I'm sure the look on my face gave away what I was feeling because he gave me a look like he felt sorry for me.

"I know it sounds bad but your one of the lucky ones and it's my opinion that you having your seat belt on saved your life."

I had to pause and really let what he was saying sink in and it sounded all bad. The doctor assured me that I probably wasn't going to suffer from any long terms effects and that most of my wounds had healed while I was in my coma. He wanted to keep me in the hospital for at least another two weeks to look over me and get me back to my peak.

I just wanted to go home but he told me that my friends and family would be able to visit me and now that I was up I could eat some real food instead of being fed through a tube and do something other than sleep. Once him and the nurse and the doctor were gone Tiffany walked back in and over to my bed with tears in her eyes as she hugged me.
