Eli

I had no choice but to get my hair done and Chance dumped me off on his sister obviously in an effort for us to spend some time together while he went off somewhere with his dad. Liberty or Libby as everyone else called her was just like Chance and his brothers. They were all so calm, were going or had graduated from college and seemed like they had a good handle on what they wanted to do with their lives.

"So Chance told me your just graduated college," I tried to spark conversation. I didn't know about her but every time Vin introduced me to a girl which was rare I studied everything they did. I had conversations with everyone but his sister and like the rest I just wanted her to like me or at least be cordial.

"Yes, a few months ago."
I know this because according to Chance himself, he flew out for it only to fly right back that night just to be by my side in case I woke up.

"Communications right?"

"Yeah but until I land an actually job doing hair helps me pay my bills while I intern. So Chance told me you own your own salon."

"I do."
"You own your own salon but don't know how to do your own hair?"
I laughed at her comment, "I can't so I guess that's partly why I opened one besides for the fact that I thought it would have a good payout in the long run."

"I wanted to do the same but I figured I would get a degree in something I like and if that fails I always had hair to fall back on. Back in school I used to have a good clientele mainly braiding, that's my specialty. You wouldn't believe how much money I made in my four years at school."

"Women always want to look good. I have women that come in the shop and get their hair and nails done every week just to switch it up. I don't have a professional braider though."
Dollar signs went off in my head at the thought and how that would add a whole new group of customers to my shop.

"You should think about getting one especially during the summer months."
"Your right," I was definitely going to consider it.

"So do you want me to just straighten your hair or..."
I thought about it, that's all I wanted at first but maybe it was time I switched it up. I literally had been rocking short hair since my senior year in high school. Whether it was curled up or slicked down but half the time I was rocking a hat anyway.

"I'm going to trust you to do whatever you want just make sure it's nothing too crazy but nothing too basic. I don't want to look like everyone else."

"I got something in mind, just trust me."

I sat and let her do her thing but I couldn't deny I was nervous as shit. I meant it when I said I didn't let just anybody touch my hair, not after the whole reason I has to chop it off in the first place was because a stylist didn't know what she was doing. I had no clue what she was doing but once she told me she was finished and handed me the mirror I took a deep breath before taking the mirror from her and looking at myself.

It was different to say the least and I almost didn't recognize myself. I told her not to give me anything basic and she didn't.

"You don't like it, do you?"
"No, it's not that. It's just different but I love it."

"You do?"
"Yes. It's perfect and best of all I don't have to worry about combing my hair. How much do I owe you?"
"Nothing. I'm just glad that my brother met someone like you. The girls I saw him talking to in the past, let's just say they didn't have anything going for them but you, your different. A little rough around the edges but sweet. I think your what my brother needs, a women to stand up to him and not always bow down to him."
