Your first date with Izuku was hellish, to say the least.
You'd gone to the fair, like you had suggested, but it was so packed with people you two had to keep a tight grip on each other's hand to keep from getting lost among the crowd. Since it was nearing the end of summer break, you assumed people were taking their chances to have some last minute fun, especially since the fair was going to be leaving in two days as well. That being said, the summer heat felt a thousand times worse because of the large number of people, you felt like just sitting on a bench in the shade for a while to cool down.
But you didn't do that because this was a date. A first date, you reminded yourself, as you and Izuku tried to catch your breath while standing under some shady trees. You'd finally made your way out of the crowd and found a place to stand and relax for a moment. After catching his breath, Izuku looks at you with a smile.
"What do you want to do first?"
I want you to stop being so cute, you're gonna kill me one day.
You shrug while tying up your hair* and then say "I don't know...are you hungry? We could get some fair food to start!"
Izuku agrees immediately, taking your hand again and you both look between the food stalls, trying to decide on what to get. Eventually, you decide to just get some hot dogs and fried Oreos to start (you'd definitely be back for more food later).
That was the first mistake. The hot dogs were awful and you both threw half away because they just weren't as good as you expected. The fried Oreos were perfectly fine; better than fine, you enjoyed them, but it caused your stomach to ache from the sugar and frying oil without having had dinner first. When you told Izuku you needed to sit for a few minutes because you didn't feel well, he quickly ran and bought you a water to try and help, which it thankfully did and you were grateful (until you realized he had spent $3 on a bottle of water and there were no refill stations, meaning you'd have to buy another if you wanted more).
After you were feeling better, you two made your way to an area that had some farm animals and demonstrations set up. You were more concerned with seeing the cute animals than whatever demonstrations were set up, so the two of you went to them first.
It was another mistake. A goat tried to eat your t-shirt, taking a bite out of in the back, and a chicken decided it didn't like Izuku and pecked at his hand while you held it, causing a few small cuts (thankfully the person who brought the chicken was prepared and fixed it up). You two decided it was better not to try with any of the other animals and to go somewhere else.
So, you decided to play some games. You tried several where you threw a ball into a glass cup to win (neither of you won), a few ring toss games (no wins there either), and the last one you'd tried was a water shooting race, which you normally were very good at, but the fact you were there on a date caused you to become very nervous and you ended up losing.
And that's why you two were now resting a bench just people watching now. You wondered what on earth caused this date to feel like it was a failure. Was it because you and Izuku were such good friends that it was weird? Was this just a bad day for a date? Was your luck at 0% or something?
You try to think of what could have made this date feel like a success, while Izuku is busy counting how much cash he still has with him, before he nods a bit, mostly to himself.
"I have enough."
"Hmm? Did you say something Izuku?"
Before he answers, he's grabbed your hand and is pulling you behind him to some unknown destination.
