With the Sports Festival coming up, you were anxiously, almost nonstop working on various support items you wanted to show off during the event. You also knew that during this time Izuku was busy himself preparing for the festival, so you two hadn't seen each other much, but were texting when you could.

Unfortunately, knowing you had the chance to show off caused you to work harder and late into the night. You were determined to get someone to take notice of your inventions and one day hire you to make support items for them. You had tunnel vision during these times, and you knew, two days before the festival, you knew you had overworked yourself and were getting sick because of it. But you were pushing it down. You were popping cough drops like no one's business and drinking more water than normal, but you were worried your developing sickness was going to fully hit you the night before the festival.

It would be your luck after all.

"Hey stupid, I've been saying your name for five minutes now."

Hearing the voice of your childhood friend made you jump, looking at Katsuki who had a slight scowl on his face as he stared at you.

"'Bout time you noticed I was here."

"Oh...sorry Katsuki, I was—"

"I know. I've known you how many years now?"

You grin a bit, while Katsuki sits across from you. "To what do I owe this visit?"

"You look like death."

Even though you laughed, you knew he wasn't wrong. You felt even worse than you looked, and were surprised no one had said anything until now. You had skipped lunch in the cafeteria every day to keep working on your projects, you probably had several people worried about you. Honestly, you'd barely spoken a word even to Mei the last few days because you've been so distracted and she's in the same class as you.

"Yeah...I kind of feel like death..."

"You gonna be good for the Sports Festival?"

Truthfully, you weren't sure. You were feeling worse as each day went by and were pretty sure that if you tried to participate, it wouldn't end well for you. You'd likely be home after the festival worse off than if you skipped altogether.

But you really didn't want to skip out on your first time in the Sports Festival. You wanted to be seen, you wanted people to notice you, and waiting a whole year to do so sounded awful. Waiting would be so hard, you were determined to make it to your first one.

"Yeah, I think so...! I think--"

"If you're gonna say 'think' you should just stay home."

Katsuki was always fairly blunt and rude about things, but you're surprised to see he looks concerned while talking to you. Katsuki almost never shows concern for anyone, even you who he had known a majority of his life. If he was showing actual concern, you must have looked worse than you thought you did.

"This has happened to you before."

You sigh, nodding. "I know...I just...don't want Izuku to worry."

"Deku will worry even more if you collapse during the damn event because you're so sick. I'm not gonna tell you what to do, but if you feel as bad as you look, you should pull out for this year."

You're quiet, and Katsuki knows you're thinking hard about this. You wanted so badly to participate, like everyone else did, but if you were that sick, you could make yourself even worse if you didn't properly rest and get better. It really sucked though, knowing you would have to skip out and wait another whole year to show your work and inventions.
