"Welcome back! We're here with 5 Seconds of Summer - tell me, boys your latest single, 'Want You Back' has gained quite a bit of attention from fans. Any idea why this single has been more popular with fans?" The interviewer, Candace asked.

Ashton shrugged, "we don't really like to question the fans," he said with a laugh. "We're just grateful that they're enjoying our music."

There was a drawn-out 'aw' from the audience, making the band smile.

Candace smiled. "How sweet! Now, Luke, there has been some buzz that you wrote the song for a previous girlfriend of yours - can you expand on that?"

Luke shifted uncomfortably, his smile forced and tense. "Well, uh, as I mentioned before, the song is about an ex-girlfriend of mine. Jasmine Chambers, to be clear."

"Now, your relationship with Jasmine ended in 2016, correct?"

"That is correct," Luke answered, mouth suddenly parched.

Candace smiled sympathetically. "Have you and Jasmine made contact since the breakup? Anything that would have spurred on such powerful lyrics?"

Luke laughed without humour. "I actually wrote the first draft of the song right after we broke up, when it was released that Jasmine would be playing Harley Quinn in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie," Luke explained.

The interviewer frowned. "If the rumours were true, it was believed that your actions were what led to your breakup - why did you dedicate a song to your ex?"

"Well, I wrote the song in like my 'mourning' period. That was why it wasn't released earlier - I didn't feel like the song was ready yet back in 2016."

"How about you three," Candace gestured to the other boys. "Can any of you provide an insight into your latest single or the breakup that still seems so up in the air?"

"I think Luke's doing a pretty good job, here," Calum smiled softly, placing a comforting hand on his best friend's shoulder. "You're doing great, man."

"Thanks, Cal."

"Luke, is there anything that you'd like to say to Jasmine?" Candace asked, staring intently at the blond singer.

Luke rubbed that back of his neck as he laughed uncomfortably. "I honestly just hope she's happy and doing well. I'm so proud of the career she's made for herself and the woman she's become without me. The song's message stands true though; I know I don't deserve it, but I miss Jasmine and what we had together terribly. I made mistakes, but if she'll let me, I want a second chance. She's my soulmate and was just the best partner for me - I miss her terribly but I know I have to live with the consequences of my actions."

"That's very mature of you, Luke." Candace nodded, smiling.

He shrugged and said nothing, his band mates nudging and patting him on the back.

"Now, does this mean that you can finally confirm what went down between you and Jasmine, back in 2016?"

Luke hesitated. "I don't really see the point in confirming or denying anything at this point - it's been three years since Jasmine and I broke up. Anything I say about that relationship now won't change anything, and will just bring up the past."

Candace raised her eyebrows as she looked at the blond man. "That didn't seem to stop you a few minutes ago, though." She replied cheekly.

"Yeah," Luke chuckled in discomfort. "I guess I just am holding out hope that I'll get a second chance with my dream girl again."

Candace and the audience cooed at his sweet words, making Luke duck his head as he smiled shyly.

"Well, I don't know about Jasmine, but I would let you take me out any day! How about you ladies?" Candace gestured to the audience, making them burst into applause and cheers.
