Michael could barely process that Jasmine was in his lap and kissing her.

The second her lips touched his all common sense went out the window. Suddenly it was just the two of them, there was no Luke, no Calm or Ashton. It was just them.

And then it wasn't.

Jasmine pulled away just as quick as she'd initiated the kiss and now was scrambling backwards, falling off of Micahel and the couch.

Michael reached for her but that only made her recoil back further.

"I-I'm so sorry, Mikey." She stuttered. "We shouldn't have done that."

Michael exhaled the breath he'd been holding and nodded in understanding; she wasn't entirely over Luke yet, she needed time to get over him. He stood and offered her a hand up, which she hesitantly accepted.

"Thank you." She whispered, squeezing his hand a little.

Michael returned the squeeze and smiled sadly. "There's no hard feelings between us, Jazz. Whatever happens, I need you in my life in some way, and if friends is all we can be, then so be it."

Jasmine felt like crying again and hugged him. "Thank you for being so understanding, Mikey. I'm so sorry again."

Michael pulled away and cupped her cheek. "Don't be, Jazz. I understand."

He turned and made his way to the front door, pausing with his hand on the doorknob. "I'm in the city for a few more days. Text me if you wanna hang out - we can just watch Family Guy and shit like old times."

I smiled and walked towards him. "I'd like that."

I rose up on my toes and pressed a kiss to his cheek. "I'll call you later, Mikey."

He shot me one more smile before closing the door behind him, leaving me alone once again.

"Mom?"

"Hi, Jazz! How are you doing, sweetie?"

"Hi, Mama Bear," I smiled at my laptop screen as my mom situated herself on the couch in my childhood home. "I'm doing okay, well... not really okay."

"What's going on honey?"

I chewed at my bottom lip and pulled my hair up into a sloppy ponytail.

"I kissed Michael."

She blinked at me. "Michael as in that boy in Luke's band?"

I nodded. "It just happened and I feel awful about it."

"Why honey?"

"Why? Because, because, it was wrong."

My mom rolled her eyes. "Hun, you're not in a relationship. I'm gonna assume Michael isn't either. What about that kiss was wrong?"

I froze and actually considered what my mom was saying.

"But, isn't that wrong? Because I dated Luke and all?"

"You two broke up three years ago, sweetheart."

I looked down at my hands in my lap and nodded. "Yeah, you're right."

"Jazz, please be honest, at the very least with yourself. Do you still have feelings for Luke?"

"I don't want to," I mumbled. "Would that be wrong? Because he cheated on me?"

"Well," my mom began, "the 'mom' in me wants to say yes because he hurt my baby. But I also know that you and Luke did have something very special."

"But there's that saying, 'once a cheater, always a cheater'."
