This is unreal! Yesterday, I was still talking to Michelle. This can't be happening. According to the news, Michelle was killed but the culprit is yet to be captured. And I have a strange feeling that the Abyss Syndicate is behind this. That man, Beta, said Michelle should hide as soon as possible. It slowly sinks in me --- Abyss Syndicate is real, it is a dangerous enemy to face.

I need to tell this to Beta!

But where could I find him? I was just lucky enough to have met him yesterday at the park. Will he also be still in the park today?

Thinking won't do any good right now. I must find him. I just pray that I could find him, for he is the only man who could solve this case, I believe.

I even skipped my breakfast and went straight to the park just to look for him. God is on my side, because, immediately, I saw a man taking a nap on the same bench where we were yesterday. I'm sure of it! It is Beta. But why is he there? Don't tell me, he's really a homeless guy? Did he just slept throughout the night on that bench?

I hurriedly shook Beta to wake him up.

"Hey! Beta! Wake up! You need to know something!"I shouted.

The man slowly rose from his slumber, looked at me with his dimming eyes, blinked a few times to regain his focus and said "B.S.".

I don't really know if he's calling my name or cussing me because I interrupted his sleep. But there's no time to comment on that. I need to tell him what happened to Michelle.

"Beta, Michelle was killed. Is was on the news. Do you think it was perhaps the Abyss---" I said.

Upon hearing me, Beta's face suddenly darkened. The remaining ounce of drowsiness suddenly escaped from him. I've never seen this expression before --- a mix of wrath, justice, revenge and guilt.

"They have done it. They are humiliating me. They won't get away with it." Beta calmly said.

I was speechless due to his overwhelming comment.

"I already told her to escape as soon as possible. Abyss Syndicate is not that stupid to let that code of her pass them by. Now, my only lead to Abyss Syndicate is gone." Beta continued.

"No, Michelle texted me last night and told me that she emailed me everything she knows about the syndicate. I haven't looked at the email yet, but according to her, the attached file she sent was password protected." I humbly said.

"B.S. let me see your phone." he commanded.

I gave him my phone for him to see Michelle's last text message, hoping that it might give a clue to what the password is.

About a minute have passed when he changed his position and started to key in something to my phone.

He's calling somebody again using my phone! Has it been his new hobby to call someone using my phone? As if he's a co-owner of my phone. What a rude bastard. His brain is his only redeeming trait!

*Clank*

"Officer, this is Beta"

(someone talking over the phone)

"It's about Michelle's murder case, can you see me here at the park and present to me what you have gathered so far regarding the case? Don't forget the photos of the crime scene."

(someone talking over the phone)

"10 minutes, can you make it?"

Beta then ended the call. Gave me my smartphone back. And then lied down on the bench again.

I've been standing all along, and instead of letting me sit on the bench, he hogged all the available space on the bench. What a selfish and insensitive human being!

He then stared at me and said "Oh! Sorry, have a seat." He rose from his position and tapped the bench as a sign of allowing me to sit.

I was wrong, there are still remnants of courtesy in him. I accepted his offer and sat beside him.

Then he suddenly lied down again, using my legs as his pillow! Damn! I thought it's rare to see him being nice. He let me sit just for him to be able to use me as his pillow! There's no limit to the rudeness of this bastard. It would have been romantic if it's not him! His intention is obvious --- he sees me as a pillow, not as a woman.

Anymore argument would cost me my energy so I decided to let it pass since I haven't eaten yet. According to the phone call Beta made, I believe we are waiting for someone --- an officer perhaps, that could help us with Michelle's case.

And a thought crossed to my mind --- What kind of power does Beta has? To command a police officer to meet him. This man, resting over my legs is really mysterious. And does he already know the password so we could open Michelle's email? His face doesn't have any shade of doubt that he will put things to light sooner or later. It makes me feel at ease, at the very least.

Ten minutes have passed, and surprisingly, a police car stopped in front of us.

Seeing a police car really stiffens my body, I will never be accustomed to the sight of a police car because it brings off the aura that something dangerous happened. That's why I don't really understand Ian for wanting to become a policeman --- the one always at the center of the danger.

Then, a rather young officer went out of the car and approached us.

"Sir, I brought everything you asked." the officer said.

Beta broke his resting position, lifted both his legs, stood at the bench and then sit like a gangster.

"The dead won't forgive me if I won't be able to catch the culprit, right?" Beta seriously murmured.
