I tried not to think too much about the letter Himeji gave me. Of course, plenty would want my position and these kinds of challenge are very common. Most importantly, I'm more concerned about the Zodiac Killer and the reason why I was invited to participate in the operation. I may have quite created a name for myself, but only in the Philippines. I never thought that my accomplishments would reach as far as California.
I don't know about the past Sheiyreen, but for me, this would be my legitimate first time flying abroad. Excitement is definitely within my system.
I must meet Ian to tell that I'm going to California. He's my boyfriend after all.
Ian is a type of person that would worry nonstop if I won't tell him about this. And being a good girlfriend that I am, I would definitely ask for his approval although he's got not much to say about the matter if I really want it. Good thing today's Saturday, we can have a date today so he would not feel lonely during the time that I'm in California.
Nope. He would definitely still feel lonely.
We decided to meet at the mall, as usual he's already waiting when I arrived at the mall. He's like that, he wants to wait and really hates it when I'm the one who's waiting for him. A true gentleman, perhaps, coming earlier than the appointed time.
But what's funny is that - we can just go together since we're staying at the same university, it is required in Ecclesiastes University for all of its students to stay at university dorms. Ian just wants to insist that he should go first, saying that he loves the view when he sees me from afar and then slowly walking towards him - just like in a wedding, the man staring at the woman dressed in white, walking slowly towards the man.
Ian can say those kinds of words with a straight face.
"Let's watch a movie!" Ian excitedly proclaimed. "The anime series that I'm into just had its first movie!"
Normally, he would always first compliment how I look before saying anything else, but this time around, he is more interested in this anime movie than how I look. It's not that I'm sulking or what, it's just rare to see him prioritizing something over me.
"You never grow up, you're already in college and you still want to watch anime? Let's watch something else. How about supporting local movies? Let's watch Alone/Together instead." I rebutted.
"Oh! You can't remember. But you were the one that introduced me to anime, Sheiy." he said.
"I did?" I interjected. "It's really funny that I changed so much from that amnesia. I have never watched a single anime ever since."
"Well then, this would only be settled through rock-paper-scissors! Who ever wins will decide what movie we should watch. First to make 3 points will win, deal?"
"Why not watch your movie and I'll watch my movie? Then we'll just meet up after we're finished watching?" I suggested.
"Sheiy! This is a date, you can't do things on your own in a date!" he insisted.
"Okay. Rock-paper-scissors it is then, don't cry when you lose." I taunted.
We both played rock for the first try. Tie!
Ian played rock and I played paper. My point!
Ian played rock and I played scissors. Ian 's point!
Ian played rock again and I played rock too. Tie!
I noticed that Ian's only playing rock so he must intend to lose. Even though he really wants to watch that anime film, he wants to lose on purpose for me to decide on what to watch.
