"To tell you frankly, this is not what I imagined. This is the first time that I would give a speech in front of many people, for as long as I can remember, literally. And what's more interesting is that - would you consider this as 'many people'? Out of 12034 bold takers, only 115 passed and was able to enter this prestigious University - Ecclesiastes University. And for that, I sincerely congratulate all of you. But of course, all the hard work you did just to pass the entrance exam is nothing compared to the hard work that you will eventually pour out just to be able to stay in this University. This university is undoubtedly the ecosystem where the most intelligent reigns. Intelligence is everything! And I would want to introduce my self to you - I am Brianna Sheiyreen Soberano, I am the one reigning at the top of the food chain. So the 115 of you, come and dethrone me - if you can."

Then I heard a sloppy applause as I make my way outside the stage. An applause full of sarcasm and implicating how triggered they were. They are like hungry lions who have nothing to lose and would do anything to be the king. The power, the fame, and even money that could potentially be yours if you can be the Student Council President.

But I don't really care. It is much more exciting this way. And besides, I don't really like that position anyways. I can't remember how I became the university president. I can't remember my friends, or do I really have one? My diary is my only source of information regarding my past. But i'm inclined to believe that it's not a diary but a creative story written by me. I may be aspiring to be a writer. The thing about the Abyss Syndicate, the threat in my life, and Beta. Who is Beta? I did my research, but unfortunately, I can't make something out of it. Yes, he was certainly a celebrity in our university considering how he was able to perfect the entrance exam so easily. But no one really cared about his personality, to the point that he just became a myth to everyone - except to Clarissa Ingram.

And as I've said, I am not interested in the president's seat, that is because I have this club - The Sleeping Club, the one that Beta founded, according to Clarissa. A club meant for sleeping, but I don't know why, it just turned into a club that solves mysteries, where I am also the president.

As I make my way to the club room, as usual, I saw Clarissa sitting and doing computer works at the corner. I don't want to disturb her, so I tried to move as quiet as possible and lied in the bed near the window.

"How was the welcome speech?" Clarissa asked.

I thought that she didn't notice me but I guess I'm wrong. I then answered "Nah, it was boring."

"Okay." she thriftily said.

To keep the conversation going, I asked "By the way, in the past 8 months, how many cases did the Sleeping Club solve?"

"We were able to document 13 cases, we have aided the police in solving a murder, tracking kidnappers, finding missing persons, and preventing a possible bomb activity."

"13 huh? Not bad, but also not enough."

"I just want to remind you that you're a psychology student and not a detective of sort."

"I know, I know."

Then I heard a familiar stride outside. The steps are resonating in the hallway. I can deduce based on the interval of his steps that he's quite tall, i can also feel the anxiety and panic in his steps considering how loud we walks. He's rushing but also trying to collect his composure. I definitely know this man and I know that he's looking for me.

"It's Ian. right?" Clarissa asked.

"Definitely, Ian." I confirmed with a sigh.

"5, 4, 3, 2, 1, and..." Clarissa counted as a sign of his arrival.
