The white walls of the hospital room greeted me. This might be the first time that I skipped school. This is somewhat refreshing, I guess. To be able to relax after what happened yesternight was nothing short of a miracle. But there are lots of things that I want to know. Everything happened so fast that I was not able to keep up. The only thing I knew is that Sir Maxwell was the one who killed Michelle all along, everything else is blurred.
I have a mixed emotions about what happened, there's a part of me that doesn't want to remember anything, in fact, I want to forget everything, but there's also a part of me that is eager to know how things went out like that. I wish someone would explain to me everything.
Maybe I'll take a walk outside, I should enjoy this rare free time that I have.
As I move my feet away from the hospital bed, my left foot touched something ----- No! my foot touched someone! On impulse, I shouted.
There's a man lying on the floor!
As I inspect who the person was, I should have expected it - it was Beta.
The commotion woke Beta up.
While wiping his eyes he said "You're awake. Let's have breakfast."
"What are you doing sleeping on the floor?! For a moment, I thought there's a dead man lying. You could have slept on the couch over there."
"No worries. I've been sleeping at the park bench for quite a time. This floor is the same."
I don't know when and how to comment on that one so I decided to be silent and let what he said pass.
"I don't want to eat yet. I want to know what happened. Will you mind filling me the details?" I said.
Beta stood up.
"Fine. I'll eat your food then. A nurse came a while ago and brought this food." he said as he sit on a chair near the table where the tray of food is.
Once again, I can't comment on his actions. I just shook my head in response.
While eating, Beta started to talk "The results were out, there were no foreign drugs on your body. You're completely safe. Those wounds on your hands were the worst that you received. Perhaps, that professor, after abducting you, started on his experiment on the other room where we found you."
"That's not what I want to know. Tell everything from how did you find me to what happened about the abyss syndicate. Seems like I'm at lost to everything."
"When you texted me, I knew that something must have happened. Perhaps, the Abyss Syndicate contacted you. I thought that you're smart enough to ignore the bait, so I became complacent, but I was wrong. Perhaps, you were blackmailed or something that's why you still went and meet the one who contacted you. After the class, Jason started mumbling about his lost phone."
"So Jason is innocent? He's not an accomplice or something?" I asked.
Then a man, upon opening the door, answered "We can't be too sure about that. Maybe not a part of the Abyss, but a consumer like Michelle is very likely."
It was Officer Vincent.
Officer Vincent continued "Good day, Sir and to you Ms. Brianna. I hope everything's
okay now. I maybe in a good timing to hear how Sir tracked Ms. Brianna."
"Yes, perfect timing! He just started explaining." I said.
"How can I explain everything if you keep on interrupting my eating?" Beta said.
"Just continue." I ordered.
"To summarize, I used my brain to track you. The End." Beta irritatingly said.
