"She intentionally dropped her phone." Beta said.

"Why do you think so?" I asked.

"It rained last night, right?"

"Yeah, it rained pretty heavy last night. I think it lasted for 6 hours. Why are you asking?"

"I checked her messages, she was about to reply to someone, 9:37 PM. I think she intentionally created a draft message to tell us the exact time when she was abducted."

"So she's already prepared to be abducted, is that what you're saying?" I asked in confusion.

"Let me explain it to you carefully. She was about to meet someone. This is evident because of the unknown phone number recorded in her phone. She was being threatened by this man. But before she meets the person, she made precautionary measures. She created a draft message to indicate the time that she met the person. Her draft message was just scribbles though. She could have keyed in 'SOS' to make things easier, so perhaps, she did it while her phone is on her pocket so that the person won't notice that she is already leaving a clue. 9:37, I'm pretty sure around that time, it was stilling raining but her phone was dry and still running. So she intentionally put her phone to a safe place that so that it won't be soaked in the rain." Beta explained.

I can't believe that Beta explained things like he was actually there. He can reconstruct a scene based on very little details. This man never ceased to amaze me.

"So what's the plan now?" I asked.

"Let's go back to sleep, that's the plan. Let me cuddle you, Brii." Beta said.

"Loko! There's a girl in danger and you're suggesting that we go to sleep?" I exclaimed.

"We're not the police. And besides, it's not related to the Abyss." Beta said.

"How can you be so sure? Surely, there are more people like Michelle who's dealing with the Abyss."

"Pawn is already in jail. Of course, the drug trafficking inside the university will continue but not as intense as when Pawn is handling the business. And I'm inclined to believe that Knight is not part of the drug trafficking. And the most conclusive proof that this case is not related to the Abyss is this sex video recorded through her phone." Beta said as he shows me the video.

It is a video of a girl and an old man having sex. The recording was dark and I think that it was recorded covertly.

Then Beta said "The girl in the video was the owner of the phone. I just don't know who the man is."

"Wait. I think I know this man. I think he's a professor here in the university. I must have seen him somewhere along the campus." I remarked.

"So this case is rather an easy one. Let the police handle it and let's relax." Beta said.

I can't persuade him this time, so I will just call Officer Vincent to tell him what Beta has just said.

"Hel--" as I was about to say 'hello' the officer interrupted me.

"Hello, Ms. Brianna. Good timing! I was just about to call you too." Officer Vincent said.

"Why?" I asked.

"I'm here inside your university, EU. There's a woman found dead near the Coffee Farm. Is Sir Beta with you? Can you come here?" Officer Vincent said.

"Okay we'll be there immediately." I said and then dropped the call.

Then Beta interjected "What are you talking about? I won't join you, Brii."

Beta is really a stubborn kind of man. He does what he wants. At this rate, I can never persuade him to come with me. I need to think of a way to outsmart him.
