The officer gave Beta an envelop containing photos from the crime scene. I would not dare to take a peek, for I might get nauseous if I see the brutality of Michelle's death.

"A slice from the right side of her neck, and a stab from the stomach. The estimated time of death is around 12 to 1 AM this morning." the officer said.

Beta is seriously scanning every photo.

Then the officer suddenly asked "Sir, why a sudden interest in this case?"

"It was Michelle, my classmate. We were with her yesterday." I said.

"Oh, pardon my rudeness, I haven't introduced my self yet --- Officer Vincent Arnais, I was recently assigned here."

"Vincent Arnais?! As in the 'Vincent Arnais' who was once the student council president of Ecclesiastes University?! The one who graduated at the early age of 20?!" I shockingly said.

"Who needs those credentials? And I'm 21 now. Right now, I'm just a simple police officer of lowest rank. And that's the reality for me right now." Officer Vincent said.

"You are my friend's role model! The reason why Ian, my childhood friend, insisted on going to EU is to follow your footprints! He would really be jealous if he would know that I was with you right now" I interjected.

This officer standing in front of me is an acquaintance of Beta. Officer Vincent is really admirable, being the student council of EU is enough of an accomplishment already, but what's more is that he is handsome, brimming with confidence and a physique that will surely attract girls. To think that he is just 2 years older than me, I felt so humbled.

I can't sustain my curiosity and finally asked "Why is someone like you calling Beta 'sir'? By any chance, is Beta also part of the police force and he is your superior?"

The face of the officer wrinkled and said "I'm more confused on why you're addressing Sir as someone as your equal. He is not part of the police force, because it would be an insult for him. He is exponentially more intelligent than me, superior in every way. I guess no one would be able to argue when I say that he is the pinnacle of intelligence the human race has to offer."

"Aren't you exaggerating too much? Is Beta really that amazing?" I asked confusingly.

The officer ignored me and turned his attention to Beta "Sir, are you sure that you will allow that girl to be your servant? I'm more capable than her. I would immediately resign if you need me as your servant."

"I'm not his servant!" I shouted.

Beta broke his silence and finally said "No doubt, Abyss Syndicate is behind this."

The expression of the officer changed "It makes sense why you're personally handling this case. Sir, will we be finally able to extinguish that abominable group?"

"It all depends on what the dead left us with." Beta said. "Officer, do you have your laptop with you?"

"None at the moment, but my house is nearby, you can use my personal laptop if that would suffice, Sir." the officer suggested.

"So it would be so, but first fetch B.S. some food, she has yet to eat." Beta commanded.

"Yes, Sir!" then Officer Vincent ran to buy food.

But how did Beta knew that I've skipped breakfast? Is it because of my breath? I've been talking nonstop, and I'm bad breath?!

I can't contain myself and asked him "How did you know that I have not eaten anything yet?"

"From your phone. I had a fair amount of time observing your phone yesterday. Your phone is unusually clean, I expected to be oily or sticky if you're eating then suddenly rushed to me. But since your phone is clean, perhaps you skipped breakfast. Considering the time the morning news is airing, and the time you came to me, it is highly probable that after confirming the news, you immediately run to find me. You even forgot to wear your bra."

I immediately covered my breast from the piercing eyes of the pervert.

"And yes, you're breath stinks" he mockingly said.

I immediately covered my mouth from the sensitive nose of the mocker.

Wait, did he knew what was I thinking awhile ago?

"The officer is returning, B.S. you take the front seat, just eat along the way"Beta said.
