It was 2:47AM when Ren meet up with Father, Leader, and Alpha. Jeremy briefed her and thanked Grandpa for driving her out.
"I hope you don't think I'm going home," Grandpa said.
"Well dad yes I do. We have enough people and they all know what to do and have been trained."
"I'm sure but they don't have this." Grandpa reached into his pocket and drew out a small glass vile.
"Are you saying it is done?" Jeremy looked surprised.
"Ren and I finished it last night and we have enough for everybody. But only if I can go along and see how it works."
"Dad, That's blackmail.”
“I know so you want it or what?” Grandpa laughed and Ren joined in.
“Father it's no use. When he gets like this he won't give in. You might as well just give up.” Ren smiled at her father.
Jeremy thought for a second or two then said, “When did you grow up so much Sweet-pea? Just the other day you were a self centered little child and now, well now you're assuming the responsibility of an adult. And Dad, when did you become such a child? I swear you get worse every day. We need that potion so you can go but you must stay invisible during the entire operation. Do you understand?”
“Yes, Jeremy I understand and you should stop treating me like a child. I have been around for a few hundred years more then you.”
“I know dad it's just sometimes you're worse then the kids.”
Grandpa handed out the viles and soon everyone was crowded around Ren as she explained how the potion worked and what the known limitations were. “We are not sure if it will work after your wolves change into were form. So it would be best if you took it after you made the change.”
One of the wolves spoke up. “Hey Ren, I'm Max. I'm Dani's older brother. Once we change we don't have thumbs so drinking the potion is going to be tough. Any ideas?”
“I do but you're going to have to trust me.” Ren scanned the crowd.
“I trust you Ren,” Max spoke up again.
“Thank you. Since the groups are even between vampires and wolves why don't you let the vampires pour the potion in the wolves mouths. I know this is a hard thing to ask but I think knowing the purpose of this operation we can at least try. If your wolf refuses then you will just have to be careful.”
“Wolves. As your Alpha I order you to trust your vampire partner. This is a great way to improve our chances and to reduce the number of wolves who could get hurt. It's for your own good. Any questions?”
A low murmur came from the wolves but no one asked any questions. Alpha smiled at his pack.
“Let's get going troupe.” Alpha lead the way. The mile trek to the old wool mill was uneventful. Everyone knew their jobs and didn't make a sound as they traveled. Ren was walking with Max.
“Max, this is so cool.” Ren whispered.
“You are sure brave for a pup.” Max whispered as well.
Ren stopped short and said to Max. “Can me a pup again and watch what this pup can do. I will beat the black right off your fur.”
Max saw the anger in her eyes. “Sorry Ren, it's just I think of you as my little sister, and I do consider Dani a pup.”
“Well you need to change your attitude. Dani is stronger than you know and she has better control of her emotions than most of your pack.”
“You're right Ren, sorry.”
“Alright let's get this started. Max let Alpha know I'm going now.” Ren walked out of the woods and strolled toward the guard shack.”
