The next evening in Ren's living room sat Jeremy, Leader, and Alpha. Ren was on the floor doing some homework she had missed. A spy must keep her grades up.

Leader spoke to the group. “I have just one question. Who did it?”

Jeremy asked, “Did what?”

Alpha said, “I'm afraid I'm with Leader on this one. Stuff like what happened here just doesn't happen without a few nudges in the right direction.”

Ren chuckled as both men looked down at her.

“Ren what did you do,” Alpha asked.

“Well,” she sat up cross legged on the floor and looked to Jeremy. He nodded to let her know it was OK. “I just thought we have been in this town for years and I'm sure there were others here before us. We have always gotten along with the humans in town. I thought if we could stir them into action we might just come out of this all right. So I went to Abby's store and spilled about Bronson. Being the old hippie I knew she was she started the whole meeting and inviting the Governor. All I had to do was make a call to the Governor on her private line and shed a few tears about the mean man in our schools. It worked.”

Alpha said, “Ren making you a spy was a great idea and I think you are only going to get better with time. I can't speak for the others in this room but you are my hero.”

“You're right Alpha, you can't speak for me. Ren you are amazing. Our little community of abnormals is glad to have you. Thank you for all your hard work.”

“Dearest daughter,” Jeremy spoke. “Your parents are very proud of you. You did a fine job and you acted like an adult. Your mother and I both think it is time we started developing your talents. So you will have lessons with us every afternoon after you get home from school.”

“Ahhh, Thanks Father but Grandpa and I have been doing that for a while. I hope that is OK?”

“It is sweet pea. I'll talk to Grandpa and ask him where you are. Maybe we can all work on it together.”

“That would be great.”
