A month had passed. I was now back in New York with Nick. Josh had moved to New York to be with Steph. We barely saw Steph anymore, she was always with Josh. Gab was still on her European vacation and wouldn’t be back until a couple of days before the wedding. Kelly was still living with me in Manhattan, however she would fly back and forth between New York and London to be with Harry. While traveling, she put me in charge of the wedding plans. She made me do all the running around, in exchange, she promised me that I would be maid of honor at their wedding. Harry, Kelly, Louis and Eleanor had all talked it over and thought it would be best if they had a double wedding. The fans went absolutely nuts when they found out that there would be a Larry Stylinson wedding. The wedding was only three weeks away. All four of them had decided that the wedding would be in Los Angeles, that way they would be able to get married on the beach and it was guaranteed it would be good weather. The four of them had appointed, Niall, Liam, Alaina, Mary Rose, Zayn and myself to all of the wedding plans. But it came down to Niall and I planning the wedding in the end. The other two couples were always busy with each other spending time with each other.
Niall had moved in with Becky in Los Angeles last week. Niall and I had talked it over, and we decided that we should stay friends. I didn’t want to lose him; he was just such a big part of my life. He had invited me to come to LA for a week to help him plan the wedding there. We had a lot of arrangements to make and it would be a lot easier if I was there with him to do them. I asked Ruth if I could go to LA for a couple of days for “research”. She agreed thinking I was actually going to do research. That was the good thing about my job, as long as I had a computer and internet connection I could submit my weekly articles to my editor. I had told Nick that I was going to meet Niall in LA to make the wedding plans. He wasn’t too keen on the idea, but he trusted me. He just wasn’t sure if he trusted Niall.
“It’s him I don’t trust” He told me as he held me in his arms.
“Niall’s with Becky now. He doesn’t care about me like that anymore.” I kissed him softly.
“So I decided to do something nice for the both of us before you leave tomorrow morning” He said as he reached into his back pocket. He pulled out a white envelope and handed it to me. “Go ahead open it” He told me. I ripped the envelope excited to see what he had gotten me. It was two tickets to see The Script. I jumped up and down. The show had been sold out for months. “How did you get these?” I asked as I hit him with the tickets.
“One of the nurses had tickets and she got a shift so she couldn’t go! I told her that you were a HUGE The Script fan, and she just handed them to me, in exchange for sitting in on one of my operations.” I couldn’t shake my smile. I was so excited to go see The Script.
The Script was amazing live. The whole show Nick was holding me in his arms. I wasn’t sure how hearing For The First Time was going to affect me. I was really hoping I could keep it together and not cry. That song just brought so many memories. Although they were happy memories, I hated being reminded that if I hadn’t broken up with Niall all those years ago, we could and might still be together. The first note of For The First Time started playing. Listening to For The First Time, this time, just made me connect to the lyrics even more, because in a way it was our reality.
“She needs me now but I can’t seem to find the time. I got a new job now on the unemployment line and we don’t know how, how we got into this mess, is it God’s test? Someone help us cause we’re doing our best, trying to make things work, but man, these times are hard. But we’re gonna stop by drinking our cheap bottles of wine. Sit talking up all night, saying things we haven’t for a while, a while, yeah. We’re smiling but we’re close to tears, even after all these years. We just now got the feeling that we’re meeting for the first time.”
