So This Is The End

In that moment I didn’t think there was a moment I was more happy in my entire life. We were really going to do this. We were going to get married, I couldn’t believe it! I was shocked that I was not hesitant at all. Every decision I had ever made in my life was never something I took likely. I would always ponder, the pros and the cons, but not this time. This was the first time ever in my life that I was  sure I was making the right decision.

“I hope you realize that you have just made me the happiest man on this earth.” He said as he held me in his arms. He grabbed my waist and brought me in and we started dancing together. I looked into his beautiful green eyes and just knew he was the one for me. I lay my head on my chest and embraced this perfect moment.

“HEY!” I heard Louis scream from a distance. Confused and not knowing what was going on, I looked up to see everyone heading towards us? I had tears in my eyes. Niall had planned all of this so that we could get married in Mexico while we were here. Being surrounded by all of my friends was what I wanted. I was never into the whole big wedding thing, regardless of the Greek stereotype. “So what do you say?” Niall said. “You want to get married tomorrow? I was thinking somewhere on the beach. The girls brought your wedding dress from LA and I took care of all of the arrangements we would need to make this your perfect dream wedding.” I didn’t say anything. Tears were just streaming down my face and I didn’t know how to stop them. I was so happy to see everyone. It had been a little over a month since the last time we had all gotten together. It was so nice to see everyone, and I couldn’t believe they all flew out to Mexico for my wedding. I couldn’t believe Niall went through all this trouble for me. This must have taken him a lot of planning.  “The parents are flying in tomorrow. So tonight, we celebrate our bachelor/bachelorette parties.”

The guys grabbed Niall and walked off with him. Eleanor placed a veil on top my head. They grabbed my arms and dragged me out to the hotel’s nightclub. We drank and danced all night. There was no one better I would have wanted to spend the night before my wedding with. It meant a lot to me that they all picked up from their lives and came to enjoy this special day with me.

“I think Harry was more excited than I was when Niall called us” Kelly laughed.

Now came my hardest decision, who would be my maid of honor. I had so many great ladies to choose from. All of these girls had had such an effect on my life. Regardless, I think I knew from the beginning who was going to be my maid of honor. I pulled her aside and asked her if she would stand at the alter with me.

“Oh my god really!” Kelly exclaimed.

I nodded. “I would love to!” Kelly screamed. We hugged and then joined the rest of the girls. Eleanor and Steph were dancing on the bar. They reached out my hand and pulled me onto the bar. We all danced and were having a blast. Mary Rose snapped a couple of pictures of us on the bar.

By the end of the night, we all walked back to our rooms. I crashed in Kelly’s room. “I love him so much.” I muttered to her.

“I know you do.”

“Like I can’t picture my life without him.”

Kelly knew I had a little too much to drink and was laughing at me. “By this time tomorrow, I’ll be Mrs. Niall Horan.” I liked the sound of that. Mrs. Niall Horan had a good ring to it. Kelly laughed at me and tucked me in.

I woke up the next morning excited to get married. Gab brought out the dress they had brought for me from LA. It was a beautiful white dress that was hemmed perfectly and barely touched the ground. Eleanor curled my hair as Mary Rose touched up my make up. “Hello, Hello.” I heard my parents as they poked their head into the room. I got up and hugged them. My mother had tears in her eyes as she looked at me all grown up. The girls left to give me a minute with my parents.

“Daddy, don’t cry.” I whispered as I hugged him.

“You look absolutely beautiful baby.” He said to me.

“You ready to do this?” My mom asked me.

I nodded, I was ready to start this new part of my life, especially with Niall by my side. I took a deep breath and lifted my dress as I started to walk out to the beach. All of my friends were sitting in the chair in front of the alter where Niall was standing next to Harry. He looked very handsome who was I kidding, he always looked handsome. My father put the veil in front of my face. The wedding march music queued as everyone stood up and watched me making my way down the aisle. I saw Cynthia, Greg and baby Marcus standing next to Maura and Bobby who looked so happy.  I couldn’t help but have a great big smile on my face. I looked up and saw Niall smiling back at me. That’s all I needed, I just needed to see his face and my nerves were gone.  That smile reassured me that everything was going to be ok and that’s all I really needed. My father took his hand out of my and gave it to Niall. “Take care of my baby.” My dad told him.

He nodded, “I will.” I smiled at him as we faced each other to say our vows. I exhaled, “Niall James Horan, I knew you before I even met you. I knew you were this great guy with a big heart. You think of others before you think of yourself. You make me feel safe in this world that can sometimes be very cruel. After everything we have been through, if there is one thing I have learned is that true love never dies. Through everything that happened, we still found a way back to each other and that makes me so sure that what we’ve got here is real. You and me till the end. You are my best friend. Through thick and thin, I will love you until death parts us.”

I said as I put his wedding band on his finger.

Niall got a little emotional, you could tell by the sound of his voice. He cleared his throat. “From the moment I met you in that hotel lobby I knew that I had to have you. There was something about you that just drew me in. Maybe it was the tremendous amount of confidence you carried about yourself, maybe it was your smile, maybe it was the fact that I learnt that you could eat as much as me. Whatever it was, Im happy I had that initial thought of having to have you. It was probably the best decision I ever made. To pursue you. I remember thinking to myself, Niall don’t say anything stupid, the first time I talked to you. I remember thinking this girl was so far out of my league. What was this confident young woman going to do with a guy like me. Everyone knows what our relationship has gone through, but even in the worst case scenarios, we made our way back to each other and that’s all that really matter. This, what we have together, is real and I’ve never been more confident in anything in my life. I will always love you, until death parts us.”

After all we had been through, we had finally made it back to each other. That’s what true love was. One day when our kids will ask us how mommy and daddy met, I will tell them that it was a roller coaster, we had ups and we had downs, but in the end, we knew it all along that we were meant for each other. And I can only hope that in the end my children find someone like I found Niall, because it’s not the destination that’s the most thrilling part, it’s the journey on how you got to that point.
