A couple of weeks had past since the last time I had talked to Niall. I had gone back to New York City to quit my job and start packing my things. Ruth was sad to see me go and tried to convince me to stay but she couldn’t offer me what Chace and LA were offering me. Saying goodbye to Jane was tough as well. She had become my rock in New York City. We promised we would try to keep in touch but we both knew it wasn’t going to be like before. Kelly was upset that I was moving out, but she figured it was about time. With the wedding in two and a half weeks, she would have had to move out of the apartment eventually. She was planning on moving to London to be with Harry. That was what was so great about being self-employed, you could just pick up and go wherever you wanted ensuring yourself that you still had a job. I went looking for an apartment in LA after I gave Ruth notice that I was quitting, effected immediately. I gave her two more articles that she could use for the next couple of issues. She had to replace me, which she told me was going to be hard to do.
Everything in Los Angeles was so expensive, especially while I was looking at apartments. I wanted something close to work, so in the Hollywood area. Nothing was the right fit though. Chace told me I could sleep at his apartment until I found a place of my own. Twitter was going absolutely crazy after they got a picture of me walking out of Chace’s apartment in the morning. I tried to assure everyone that we were just friends and he was just helping me out.
My first day on the job had been an interesting one. Everyone was super nice, and I was surrounded by beautiful people. Everything was very new to me. I wasn’t used to the LA laid-back lifestyle. I was used to my quick-paced, get out of the way, New York lifestyle. It was definitely a change. I had already started writing the script, I got right down to business. The storyline starts off with two brothers Joshua and Noah who were played by Chace and Taylor, who had grown up with their next door neighbor Kara, played by, Emma Stone. The three of them had been inseparable while they were teenagers but Kara left home to go to college. They all tried to stay in touch, but over time, they drifted apart, it was only natural. Kara comes back home after her fiancé left her at the alter. They all end up hanging out again, but by the end of the summer, the brothers end up falling in love with Kara. While writing the script, I really had to develop the characters, I had to make them from scratch, everything had to be perfect. A lot of things that happened in my life reflected in my writing and I wrote about a lot of my own experiences as I wrote the storyline. Writing this script, made me remember everything I had gone through the past couple of years, from Jason leaving me to go to the Navy, to having a summer fling with Kosta, to meeting Niall and falling in love, to our miserable break up, fast forward 5 years into the future. The difference between my life then and my life now was substantial. I couldn’t believe it. Over the years, I had changed, I knew that. I always like to think that change was always for the better.
As of right now, I had officially moved to LA. I met my assistant Miriam the first day and we clicked right off the bat. She was a little younger than I was. She got this job right out of university. She went to UCLA and studied Film. This job was just a stepping-stone for her but it was great experience in the field she wanted to study that would look great on her resume. In the first couple of days I met her, she had told me that her friend Tori had been looking for a roommate. The apartment was very close to work, and she assured me that she was a cool gal. I met up with Tori that week and we clicked. There were a lot of similarities between Tori and Miriam. The three of us hung out a lot, after all, other than Chace and Taylor I didn’t really know anyone in LA.
Two and a half weeks later the script was coming along really nicely. We were planning to start filming after I got back from the wedding. I had taken the whole weekend off to perform my duties as maid of honor. Everyone flew out to LA for the weekend. Tori didn’t mind me having guests. We had an extra bedroom where Gab and Michael would sleep. Steph was going to stay with Josh in his hotel. Kelly needed a place to stay because she was superstitious and couldn’t see Harry before the wedding, Eleanor didn’t have the same superstitions as Kelly so she slept with Louis at their hotel. Kelly slept at our apartment, she was really nervous. The whole night she was questioning if she was doing the right thing. To take her mind off of it, we decided to take her out for the bachelorette party we never ended up throwing for her because everyone had busy schedules. Steph, Mary Rose and Eleanor met up with us at the apartment. Alaina was only arriving late that night and she wanted to spend what time she had with Liam. I totally understood and told her it was alright. We considered inviting Becky to come out with us but none of us didn’t really know her and thought it would be awkward. We were going to a bar, she wouldn’t have had a good time. The girls really wanted to meet Chace and Taylor so I called him asking him if he would mind stopping by the bar we were going to go to.
