"Good afternoon," I heard the cheerful tone as I stepped out of my room. "Have a good nap? Want anything to drink?
"I'm fine. My nap was okay," I wave my hand. "I'm gonna clean myself up first. I mean, my hair is messy, isn't it?"
"Alright," he nods. He. Callum. He was being... nice. He was being the way he was before. Before we started 'dating.' I guess he was just irritated earlier. But he's fine now. Thank God for that. I guess when both of us went into our own rooms we calmed down, and I fell asleep and took a one-hour nap. That's just the way things work.
"Oh, and," I look at my phone screen. "I'm gonna go on a walk with Aubrey later, okay?"
"Yup," he nods. "Have fun on your walk. Want anything to eat before that? Like a snack?"
"No, I'm good," I shake my head and walk into the washroom.

"So how was it?" her voice was eager. "And I'm sorry it had to be lunch. We have that New Year's party tonight, remember?"
"Oh, yeah, that," I sigh. "It was good, though. The food was good and the waiter was really nice to us."
"I meant the date. Like, Callum," she rolls her eyes. "Can I trust you with him?"
"Y-Yeah, I'd say so," I nod. He was being nice earlier. Forget about what happened before.
"Okay," she nods slowly. "You seem a bit unsure. Are you certain everything is alright?"
"Mhm," I nod. "Everything is fine."
"Great," she smiles. "Okay, so what I came to talk about."
"I thought you just wanted to ask me about the date?"
"Yeah, but there's something else," she smiles wider. "Jake has officially been un-douched. I mean, for now. Until he snaps back into his old habits."
"Cool," I nod. "That's good."
"I know! Isn't it amazing!" she beams enthusiastically. Her phone rings. "Hold on a sec."
She pulls her phone out of her pocket and checks the caller ID before answering the call.
"Hey... I'm out right now... Yeah, on a walk with Ellie... Mhm... Oh, really? ... Alright... Okay, yeah... Sure... Alright. Bye. ... Mhm? ... Yeah, six is good... Okay, bye."
"Andrew?" I look at her after she hangs up and she nods. "Cool."
"He's gonna drive all of us to the party at six," she says, her eyes trained on the ground.
"Hey, is everything alright?"
"Y-Yeah, of course," she nods. "Why wouldn't it be?"
"You seem out of it," I look at her.
"No, I'm fine," she says kind of mumbly. I sigh. I know better than to press her. But I have to. This is different. She's not just feeling down. There's something clearly bothering her and, I mean, I don't want to be nosy of course. But it can't hurt for her to tell me, can it? Am I being a bad friend by asking? Fuck it.
