I watched for minutes in disbelief.

Andy always complained about hating Luke and his band, why the sudden change of heart? I bet they asked him to do their homework or something, I mean Andy is pretty smart.

I was so wrapped up in figuring out what was up I forgot about Luke. All until I noticed him walking up to Michael. That idiot.

Luke's POV

My friends! I want to tell them so badly that I'm okay and I give them permission to carry on with the band without me. I'm pretty sure they're heart broken. Although they're laughing... they're a little happier than expected but I guess they have to move on.

I hear Calum laughing as he turns to say something to Andy. I wonder what they're laughing about.

"Dude your funny as hell, we should've had you as the lead singer way before Luke." what? What does he mean 'have him as the lead singer'? I'm the damn lead singer!

"Yeah," Michael says, "You're a much better singer too, Luke was a little iffy. But you," he grabs him by the shoulder slightly shaking him, "you've got pipes my friend." WHAT?

My previous excitement turned into utter and complete anger. How could they replace me so fast? Its hardly been 48 hours for crying out loud! They're supposed to be my friends.

God I sound emotional like a girl, I've been hanging with them since freshman year. This is pure betrayal.

I could feel Ajah's eyes on me as I put my hand on my forehead as now I had a headache. Did she hear all of that? I turned to see her glaring at me, motioning for me to come to her. Instead I went in the opposite direction, heading straight for Michael balling up my fist until it was met with his jaw.

I heard the collision of my fist to his jaw and he roared in pain. That's for betraying me asshole.

I watched as Sophia rushed to his aide trying to figure out what was wrong. I walked over to Ajah to see her glaring at me eyes bulging.

"What did you do that for?!" she scream whispered, trying not to attract attention.

"Let's go." I blankly told her.

She stared at me for a while, a look of concern covering her face, then slowly she began walking to her next period. For once in her life she did what I asked.

The rest of the day went by pretty quickly, boring classes boring teachers her boring weird friends. All except that one kid who's trying to replace me, Andy. I've only seen him with Ajah, but today for some reason he sat with my friends at my table in my seat!

The nerve of that kid.

Ajah's POV

As we walked home I watched Luke. He seemed distraught as if he'd 'just lost his best friend' as my mother would say.

"What's wrong?" he looked up at me as if he didn't know what I was talking about, "you've been pouting since after homeroom, and why did you punch Michael in the face? What's your problem?" I tried to sound concerned but I sounded more Angry than I intended to.

" You don't care." he said as he turned away from me. What does he mean 'I don't care', if I didn't care I wouldn't be sitting here trying to help him, I despise him for how he's treated me for the last 3 and a half years, but I still care, slightly.

"Just tell me."

I heard him loudly exhale as he ran his fingers through his blonde hair. I've never taken the time to observe him like this. He's actually a lot cuter than when we were freshman, his long legs attract my attention, but the way he bites his lip- wait why am I having these thoughts? He's a ghost for crying out loud!

"Ajah?" he noticed my zoning out before I even did.

"Yeah, I'm listening."

"I was saying that, that little friend of yours Andy is replacing me. MY place in the band, and my friends, they've just forgotten about me!" I can see his jaw tense up and then he does it again. He bites his darn lip, why? Why does he do that.

By the time he's done lip chomping we're at my house. I pull out my keys and unlock the door to see my mom in the kitchen making dinner.

She only smiles at me and waves then goes back to business. I swiftly move to the door of my room. When I turn the knob I'm relieved to be in my safe haven again. Then I realize Luke's crying.

Luke's POV

It finally hit me.

"I've just come to the reality that I'm dead. I won't live out my dreams. I won't grow old, and people are going to move on and forget about me." I softly spoke as a tear rolled down my cheek.

What the heck? I'm getting more emotional by the hour. What the heck is wrong with me.

I close my eyes and breathe in. I feel a hand on my shoulder. When I open my eyes I'm staring into Ajah's eyes. Her brown eyes completely captivating my attention. Until she starts laughing.

"I'm sorry," she says dying of laughter, "But stop crying like a little bitch."

I couldn't help but laugh too. I expected her to be all girly and say something like " I'll never forget you." like in the movies, but she's different. Now, I'm starting to remember why we were best friends at one point.

She falls back on the bed with a loud sigh. Me, doing the exact same, ending up lying next to her.

"Well," she exhales, "I know exactly how you feel."

I chuckled, "You know what it feels like to be dead?"

"No, but I felt pretty forgotten when you left me for that other group. The feeling of being alone and forgotten is pretty familiar." I looked over at her. I could see the expression on her face softening into a half frown. I suddenly felt bad for her.

" That hurt you know." She spoke a little louder than a whisper. "It wasn't so bad losing you as a friend, I understood. But the way you treated me afterwards was unforgettable." my stomach began to churn in guilt as flashbacks of me humiliating her in front of everyone flushed my mind. And I questioned why she was helping me, after I put her through so much crap.
