Chapter 26

Natalie's POV
Me and Kakashi were at the gates with Sasuke as he was about to depart. I had started to tear up and tried to hide it, but I felt a cool hand tilt my chin. I looked up at Sasuke and he smiled at me. "I'll see you in six months." He promised. I nodded and he tapped my forehead like Itachi had used to do. I rolled my eyes and grabbed the collar of his black cloak and smashed my lips against his. Once we separated it was my turn to smirk at his now red face. "Well then I think I should go." Kakashi said disappearing in a puff of smoke. "I'll see you in six months." I replied to him. I pulled my silver locket out of my pocket and I smiled as there were more locket pieces on it. "I thought I lost that." He said. "I took it from you when you were sleeping. I added some more lockets so I could put in some more pictures." I explained handing it to him. "Thank you Natalie." He whispered placing a kiss on my forehead. I closed my eyes and opened them to see that Sasuke was gone. I smiled at the place where he once stood and turned around and walked back into the village.

Sasuke's POV
I walked into a forest, but felt a familiar chakra. "Naruto I didn't think you were going to come." I said turning around to face him. "I wouldn't let my best friend leave without saying good-bye and giving you this back." He said pulling out my old headband that now had a slash across it. "Looks like you kept mine too." I observed taking it from his hand. "Yeah, I want you to bring back yourself without any missing limbs this time." He said smiling. I felt a smile tug at the corners of my lips and I only nodded. "Make sure Natalie stays safe while I'm gone okay." I told him turning away from him. "I'll protect her with my life and I'm pretty sure she'll do the same for me. You gotta admit Sasuke, she's probably stronger than the both of us combined." I chuckled and thought back to when Natalie had to catch me from falling. "You're not wrong." I agreed. "I'll see you later Naruto."

Natalie's POV
I walked into the hospital and some of the nurses greeted me with smiles. "I just can't believe that Sasuke Uchiha likes her." I heard someone say. I saw a girl around my age with brown hair, red eyes, and a short dress on. She was whispering to another girl around our age. I walked over to her and she immediately straightened up and gave me a fake smile. "You must be Natalie Junakin, me and my friend have heard a lot about you." She said. "Yes and I can just tell you have, that and you like to eavesdrop on other people's business." I said staring down at her. She gulped and tried to punch me, but I stopped her fist with my hand. "You have to understand that this is a hospital. We don't fight in hospitals, plus I'm a ninja and you are not so I suggest you leave before I want to take this outside." I said a dark aura surrounding me. She cowered in fear and she and her friend ran out of the hospital. "Good job Natalie." I heard Lady Tsunade say from behind me. "I don't like when people intrude on other's business." I commented as I walked down the hallways and stopped as I heard familiar shouting. "Who got hurt this time?" I asked. "Kiba and Akamaru got into a fight with some enemy ninja and Kiba got cuts on his arms." She explained. "You wanna take this one? I could really use a break." She muttered. I nodded and grabbed his file and walked in. "KIBA I TOLD YOU TO BE CAREFUL!" Hana screamed. I chuckled and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry Hana, I'll take care of him. I'm sure that Akamaru is hurt too, could you take him to your vet office and take a look at him?" I asked trying to get her away from Kiba so that she didn't hurt him. "Oh of course, c'mon Akamaru. Thanks Natalie." She said walking out with a limping Akamaru. "Thanks for that Natalie." I only nodded and walked over to the bed and unwrapped the bandages that covered his entire arms. My eyes widened at the amount of cuts and I hit him on the head, which caused him to yelp in pain. "What were you thinking you idiot, this many cuts could've caused blood loss and you could've died." I told him while starting to heal his wounds. "I'll live Natalie, but how are you holding up?" He asked looking at me with concern. "I'll be fine Kiba, he's going to send letters and he'll be coming back in six months." I explained healing up his last cut. "Thanks Natalie." He said getting up and walking out of the room. I rolled my eyes and walked out of the room as well and walked into another patient's room. "Hm never thought I'd see the day." I heard a deep voice say. My head shot up from the file I was reading and I noticed a man with white hair and blue eyes...my father. "What are you doing here?" I asked angrily walking up to him and grabbing his shirt. "I came here to get better of course, didn't think that I would've made it out alive after that rogue ninja killed me." He said smiling at me. "Heh that's where you're wrong, you aren't my father. My father didn't have blue eyes." I smirked. The man frowned and morphed back into a person I didn't know. "Danzo's the name Natalie." He said in a raspy voice. "Well I suggest you leave before I kill you where you stand." I muttered walking out and signaling a few ninja into the room. "Hey get your hands off me!" I heard him shout. "Natalie how about you head home." Tsunade said noticing my now pale face. "Yeah I think that's a good idea." I whispered turning on my heel and walking out of the hospital. "Hey Natalie you want me to walk you home?" I heard Naruto's voice ask. "Sure Naruto." I smiled. We started to walk back to my apartment in silence. "Natalie, there's this girl that I really want to be with. She's really shy and I think she might like me back." Naruto blurted out. I smirked and raised an eyebrow at him. "Hinata likes you back Naruto. Go for it, I'm sure Hinata would love if you were with her." I replied. "Yes!" He shouted running off. I only let out a chuckle and walked into my apartment and into my bedroom where I saw a white box with a red ribbon on it. I walked over to it and inspected it for any traps and then finally read the tag. "To my love from Sasuke." I read aloud. I smiled and opened the box to reveal a blue jonin vest. I turned it around and smiled as the Uchiha crest was adorned on it.

To Natalie,
By the next time you see me I am going to make sure you wear that crest on your back for the rest of your life

I could feel my cheeks heat up, but I ignored it and slipped on the vest and it fit perfectly. I slipped it off again and into some pajamas. "Goodnight Sasuke wherever you are." I whispered.

Sasuke's POV
I camped up in a tree and looked up as the moon shone high in the sky. I grabbed the locket from my weapons bag and noticed pictures of me, Natalie, and Naruto were in the locket pieces. I smiled as one was me and Natalie cuddled in her bed together. "Kakashi you cheeky bastard." I laughed. I looked at the photo and smiled as I noticed that Natalie was smiling in the picture. "Goodnight Natalie."
