Chapter 24

Natalie's POV
I had just finished taking out all of Sasuke's IV's and other things he was attached to. "Naruto healed a lot quicker than me, guess he beat me at something." Sasuke joked. I rolled my eyes and handed him some clothes that I had made for him. I was really good at sewing and making clothes. I walked out and got a wheelchair for Sasuke to sit in. "Thank you." He said as I helped him stand up. He had on some black sweatpants and a blue long sleeved shirt with the Uchiha crest on the back. I nodded and Sasuke ignored the wheelchair completely and just walked with my help out of the hospital. We had gotten looks, looks of happiness. I froze as I felt Sasuke lose his balance, but wrapped my arms around him. He looked up at me and blushed a dark red. It looked like I had dipped him as if we were dancing. I laughed and pulled him back up to his feet. "Be careful Sasuke, I won't always be here to catch you." I said. "Shut up." He mumbled rubbing the back of his neck with his only hand. I helped him back to my apartment and sat him down on the couch. "Hey Natalie!" Naruto shouted walking in. "Hey Naruto." I greeted while starting to make some stir fry. "I had a professional seamstress start making you all new clothes Sasuke." I said walking out of the kitchen. "You know you don't have to do all this stuff for me." Sasuke said. "I know that, but you're still hurt and you need to get use to...you know." I said.

Sasuke's POV
I nodded and looked at where my arm was supposed to be and where Naruto had a regenerated arm from the treatment Tsunade had done. I looked over at Natalie who was making food and Naruto who was talking to her. It was going to be hard leaving her behind, but I think I could manage. "Dinner is ready you two." I heard Natalie say. We all sat down at the table as Kakashi walked through the door. "Right on time Kakashi Sensei." I said looking at him. Natalie tapped her glass with her knife and we all turned to her. "I just wanted to say how happy I am to have everyone back in my life and that nobody is fighting." She said tearing up. I stood up and hugged her as best as I could with one arm. "Thank you for everything." I whispered. She hugged me back and I could feel her smile against my chest. "Let's eat." She said. We all started to eat and laugh like we were one big family. "Natalie, people are considering me to be the next Hokage." Kakashi said. I dropped my chopsticks onto my plate and looked at him in disbelief. "Finally someone with common sense. I was probably Shikaku, Shikamaru's father is quite smart and anyone can see that you would make a good Hokage." She said smiling at him. "I hope they do choose you so you can choose me to be Hokage, Kakashi Sensei." Naruto said. I rolled my eyes and smirked as I saw Natalie slightly blushing when I looked at her. "I'm leaving once I have everything settled here." I said. Naruto stayed quiet, but Kakashi grabbed my arm and dragged me out onto Natalie's balcony and closed the sliding glass door. "Natalie cares deeply about you and I know you feel the same for her and the village has said they will forgive you. I don't know how long you'll be gone, but come back for Natalie." He said looking at me sternly. "I love Natalie and it'll hurt to leave, but I will always come back to the girl I love." I explained. He nodded and we finished dinner. "I'll clean up and how about you do some of your therapy exercises." She said. I rolled my eyes and she bumped me with her hip and side hugged me. "Don't sass me." She said walking off to the dining room and grabbing the dishes. 

Natalie's POV
I started to clean up when I heard a deep voice humming a familiar tune. It was so familiar I could almost feel the lyrics rolling off my tongue. "Let's go in the garden, you'll find something waiting. Right there where you left it lying upside down." I could hear Sasuke sing. I snuck behind a corner in the living room and leaned against a wall and smiled slightly. "When you finally find it you'll see how it's fading. The underside is lighter when you turn it around." He continued to sing. I'll admit something, Sasuke had a beautiful voice and his voice was music to my ears. "Everything stays right where you left it. Everything stays but its still fading. Every so slightly, daily and nightly, in little ways when everything stays." I sang along with him. He turned around in a flash and I noticed a pink dusting his cheeks. "Where did you learn that song?" I asked. He laughed nervously and walked over to me. "I used to hear you hum it in class, but I heard you singing it when you were training alone one day. It was a nice song and it got stuck in my head." He explained leaning slightly over me. "I'm glad you like it. Me and Niobi made it up one day when we were little. We had trouble sleeping so when I'd sleep with him we'd sing it and it was like a reassuring lullaby." I said looking up at him. "I should probably show you to your room." I said. He nodded and I grabbed his hand and led him to the guest room. Shower is just through that door and I already put some clothes for you in the dresser." I explained as he leaned against the door frame. "Thank you Natalie." He replied stepping closer to me and kissing my forehead and closing the door behind him. I smiled absent mindlessly and walked to my own room and changed into a big T-shirt and a pair of spandex shorts. I stayed up kinda late sharpening my weapons and thinking about what I was going to do with my future. I heard screaming and I grabbed a kunai and ran into Sasuke's room where the screaming was coming from. I opened the door and saw Sasuke sitting up, panting heavily and tears running down his face. I set down my kunai and walked over to him and placed my hand on his shoulder. Before I knew it Sasuke had yanked me into his lap and was crying into my shoulder. I hugged him and rubbed his back soothingly. "Hey...it's okay." I murmured softly running my hand through his raven locks. "I don't want you to get hurt." He sobbed out. "Sasuke you gotta understand that I can take care of myself. Remember when you got hurt by Kabuto?" I asked. He looked up at me with blood shot eyes from crying so hard. "I sent you a letter and you came and took care of me." He replied. I wiped away his tears and cupped his face with my hands. "Sasuke if I ever get hurt you'll be the first person to know okay." He nodded and I pecked his lips. "I will love you forever and make sure you never get hurt again." He said. I smiled and he pulled me down to lay with him. He spooned me gently and  he brought me closer to his chest. "I wish we could stay like this forever." I whispered grabbing his hand and kissing it lightly. He hummed in response and I could feel myself get tired.
