Natalie's POV
I walked into Lady Tsunade's office along with Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura. It had been a couple days since Lady Tsunade had become Hokage. I leaned against a wall near the door glaring at my feet. All I was thinking about was how Gaara was doing.

*FLASHBACK*
I stood in front of Gaara with tears in my eyes. "Thank you." I said. I ran into his arms and hugged him tightly. "I should be the one thanking you. You brought love back into my life." He said hugging me back. He put a vial of sand with a chain around it in my hand. "When I'm near the sand will move around. When you wear this I'll always be close to you." Gaara said a tear running down his cheek. I kissed him goodbye and watched as he and the sand siblings walked away. I felt a hand on my shoulder and looked up at Kakashi. "It's for the best Natalie." He said. I looked at them as they grew smaller.
*FLASHBACK*

I snapped back into reality as Sakura grabbed my wrist. "Are you okay?" She asked. I ignored her and walked out with the rest of my team. I had been distant with everyone ever since the incident with Gaara and the  Third Hokage's death. I never got to finish that conversation with him that day. "Natalie are you okay?" Naruto asked in a concerned tone. "Yeah." I mumbled. "I'm gonna go pack for the mission meet you guys here in ten minutes." I said walking away from them and into my apartment. I grabbed my bag and filled it with the essentials. "Hey." I heard a voice say. "Hello Niobi." I said slinging my bag over my shoulder. "Where are you off to?" He asked. "On a mission." I said wrapping my hand around the vial of sand that hung around my neck. "What's wrong?" A image of Gaara crossed my mind and I felt tears brim my eyes. "A friend left a little bit ago and I don't know if I'll ever get to see them again." I whispered blinking away tears. He hugged me from behind and rested his chin on the top of my head. "I'm scared." He whispered. "Why?" He held me tighter and I turned around and wrapped my arms around him. "Please just be careful okay." He said releasing me from his grip. I just nodded and walked out of the apartment and saw Sasuke waiting alone. "Natalie I know you aren't okay so tell me what's wrong." Sasuke said turning to look at me. "It's just the Gaara thing and I feel like the Third Hokage's death was my fault." I said looking at my feet. I felt arms wrap around me and I hugged him back. "Thank you Sasuke. I needed that." I said as he let go of me. "Yeah don't mention it." He mumbled as I could hear Sakura and Naruto's voice. "I'm just saying Sakura, I don't have a chance to be with-" Naruto said cutting himself off as he saw me. Kakashi walked over to us and he started to explain the mission. "So we're just helping out at a farm?" Naruto asked tilting his head at Kakashi. Kakashi nodded and we set off. "Are we still gonna try and get his mask off him?" Naruto asked us. "I've seen him without his mask what's the big deal?" I asked tightening my ponytail. "You've seen Kakashi Sensei's face." Sakura exclaimed. I nodded and rolled my eyes at them. "Well what does he look like?" I shook my head and pretended to zip my lips. "What would be the point of wearing it if he was okay with you seeing his face." I said walking away from them. We got to the farm and I smiled at the cows in the pasture. Maybe this mission could take my mind off things. "Ah welcome, thank you so much for coming." An older woman said with two younger women behind her. I smiled at them and noticed that there were intense states in Kakashi's direction. I walked away from the group and towards the stables. A black stallion was banging his hoof against one of the gates. "Be careful around him, he is one of the wild ones." One of the younger ladies warned. I smirked and jumped over the fence. The horse neighed wildly and looked me straight in the eyes. "Hey now calm down." I said calmly stretching my hand out to him. He nuzzled my hand with his snout and neighed softly. "So much for you being a wild one." I whispered as I jumped over the fence again. "I can help out here if you want." I said looking back at the stallion. "That would be a great help. Though he is the only one here." She said referring to the horse. "Does he have a name?" I asked. She shook her head and walked out of the stables. "How about we call you Spirit, you sure have a lot of it?" I asked the horse nearing the gate. He neighed happily and nuzzled me with his wet nose. I laughed softly and pet his head. I grabbed a shovel and broom and started to clean up the mess and fed Spirit an apple. "There nice and clean, you must hate it here. No one has ridden you have they?" I said aloud petting his head with a sad smile. I notice a saddle and reins hung up in the corner of the stables. I grabbed them and saddled Spirit up. I got on top of him and he trotted out of the stables and into the field. I saw Naruto and Sakura helping with crops, while Kakashi and Sasuke were directing cows. They seemed to be having trouble with it so I snapped the reins and Spirit raced over to them. "Need some help?" I asked smiling down at them. Sasuke had a small smile on his face and Kakashi nodded. "Yeah." Kakashi said rubbing the back of his neck. I snapped the reins again and started herding the cows and led them into the barn. "Have you done this before?" Kakashi asked me as I got off Spirit. "Nope just comes naturally I guess." I said with a smile. Kakashi disappeared in a puff of smoke and I laughed to myself. "Need a ride?" I asked pointing to the horse. Sasuke nodded and I jumped on Spirit and helped Sasuke on. "Hold on." I warned. "What do you-ahhhhhh!" He shouted as Spirit started running at top speed. I felt Sasuke's arms tighten around me as I laughed. I pulled the reins and Spirit stopped. "You okay Sasuke?" I asked noticing he never released his grip on me. "Y-yeah." He said getting off the horse and wobbling slightly trying to regain his balance. I got off and led Spirit back to the stables with Sasuke at my side. "So you like horses?" He asked. "Yeah. I always wanted one when I was little." I answered while taking the saddle and reins off of Spirit. Sasuke simply nodded and we walked back to the house for dinner. We all started eating besides Kakashi and the others just stared at him. I rolled my eyes and ate silently until the table was flipped over causing food to be thrown all of the place. "Really?" I asked all of them. They all looked at me as my hands turned into fists. "Just clean this up Kakashi. Sakura let's go to the hot spring." I said walking out with her. "You guys are thinking way to much into this." I said stripping down and wrapping a towel around my body. "We have a few theories on why he wears a mask. Does he have giant lips or big buck teeth?" She asked slipping into the water a little bit away from me. I just shook my head and enjoyed the warm water. I opened my eyes to find Sakura peeking to the boys side. "SAKURA!" I screamed making her fall  into the water. "What the hell were you doing?" I asked looking at her like she was insane. "I thought Kakashi Sensei would have his mask off and he didn't." She said sitting back in the water muttering curses under her breath. "Natalie what's the necklace for?" She asked. I looked down and wrapped a hand around the vial of sand. "Gaara gave it to me before he left. Said it was something to remember him." I explained with a small smile. She just nodded and gave me a sad smile. "I'm gonna go get into pajamas and hit the hay. I'll see you in the morning Sakura. GOODNIGHT BOYS!" I shouted making sure the boys heard me. "NIGHT NATALIE!" I heard Naruto reply back.
