I woke up to the comfort of his arms around me, his warmth enveloping my body. Letting my eyes adjust to the morning sun, I carefully removed his arm from me before sitting up.
I glanced at everyone as I stretched my arms, and all but Jellal were still sleeping. Huh, where could that jellybean be?
Standing up, I pulled the blanket over Cobra before leaving his side to search for our leader. There's something I'd like to know since I noticed the places getting familiar. Right now, I'm certain we are somewhere near East Forest.
"Jellal?" I called as soon as I found him by the edge of a river, probably hoping to catch some fish.
He glanced to my direction and nodded before turning his head back to the body of water. "Everyone awake?"
"No, just me. There's just... something I wanted to ask you." Fidgeting, I looked down on the ground, my forehead creasing as I took a deep breath.
"Yeah, what is it?"
"W-Where exactly is Meteor Palace?" I finally asked, hoping it wasn't what I thought.
From the corner of my eyes, I saw Jellal leaning back and sighing. "Sorry, I didn't wanna tell you. But... It's located at the mountains west of Magnolia."
Magnolia.
The place I once called home, the place where Fairy Tail is. Which means... we'll have to pass Magnolia to reach our destination.
"It's alright. If you're not ready, we can take the long route to get there."
I immediately shook my head. Ofcourse, I didn't want to burden them. They're all already tired and we've been walking long enough. If Magnolia's the fastest way to reach there, I'd have to face my fears and be ready to enter the place I once called home.
"It's fine, I'm just... surprised."
"Lucy."
"In life, we'll have to be always ready, specially in our situation. We can't let our fears hold us back, because sooner or later, we'll face tougher situations that would include what we fear the most. It's easier said than done, but you're one of the most determined people I know, and I know you can do anything." Jellal smiled warmly at me, one that reminded me of Natsu and Erza, a smile that actually calmed me down. I'm glad to have him as our leader and a brother to me, he's really dependable.
"Well then, let's go back." He stood up, a basket filled with fish in his hand. Woah, I didn't notice that earlier.
"You caught this much?!"
We went back to the others just in time to see them waking up. After eating and charging our energy, we continued our journey to Meteor Palace.
And as we got closer and closer to East Forest and Magnolia, my heart would beat louder and faster due to nervousness. Taking a deep breath, I reassured myself that I could do it.
Virgo suddenly appeared infront of me, walking backwards so she could face me as I walked. "Princess, the magicsmith has completed your request."
I looked at her in question, trying to remember what I requested them to make.
"Here." Virgo took my hand and placed a pair of galaxy-colored earbuds, her gaze not leaving mine.
It was then when I remembered asking them months ago if they had something that could block my thoughts from Cobra. I totally forgot about that.
"These are specially made just for you, princess. It blocks anyone or anything from entering your brain and hearing your thoughts, including telepathy. Once you wear them, the color blends with your skin making it seem invisible, and could only be removed by you. That is all." Without warning, Virgo vanished and left the earbuds on my hands.
