Our treatment to each other just got worse, and I know everyone else noticed that. Cobra would pretend I don't exist, and whenever our eyes accidentally meet, he would obviously flush, much to the others' confusions. While I try to act normal, it's impossible. Everytime I see him, my heart would go faster and the almost kiss would replay in my mind. It's been a week since that night, and since then, Pierre has been tagging along with us.

Ofcourse, we still keep a close eye on him. We can't let our guards down, afterall, we don't really know who he is. We became quite close though, since he's sweet and caring. He always hangs out around me, and is actually a real gentleman.

"Ow!" I quickly dropped the pocket knife and brought my finger to my mouth, sipping the blood coming from the little cut. I was peeling potatoes for the soup, and the knife accidentally slipped.

"What happened?!" Pierre, who was creating the fire just a few feet near me, quickly hurried to my side, a worried expression on his face as he took my hand.

Just then, raw fishes fell on Pierre's arm, causing him to retract his hand from mine. I looked up to see Cobra with a blank expression, who was responsible for 'accidentally' dropping the fishes.

"My bad." He flatly uttered, taking the fishes before walking away.

That's another thing. I don't know if he's doing it on purpose just to piss me off or what, but he always does something like that... uh, I don't even know what to call it.

"Guys, hurry up! We need to finish before Racer comes back!" Meredy cheerfully yelled, a bright smile on her face as she turned back to continue cutting vegetables.

Today is Racer's birthday, and it's actually pretty sweet that they wanted to make it special for him. Birthdays were never important nor celebrated to them, but I insisted on celebrating, for them to enjoy lives once in a while. Because I know, they deserve happiness, too. They deserve to feel special, too.

Since we don't have a lot of money, we had to rely on nature for the food and drinks. Angel managed to get a bottle of sake for free by promising a date to a drunk guy in a bar, which ofcourse, was a bluff. And although we shouldn't let our guards down, they deserve a moment of feeling free from their worries.

We're setting the party in a small cave not too far from Margaret Town. It was totally messed up with dirts, insects and webs everywhere, but Richard managed to clean the place. And so, he and Angel are decorating using what we can get from the forest.

It might seem like a cheap party that we can't even set it up somewhere decent, but it's the thought and effort that counts.

Jellal is responsible for keeping Racer away from here, and whatever they're doing is a mystery to me. Midnight and uh Cobra were the ones who hunted for the meat, Meredy and Pierre searched for fruits and vegetables, while I am the one who'll cook.

"Can you reach Jellal through telepathy, Lucy?" Meredy asked beside me, and I can't help but giggle at how frantic she looks.

"I'll try."

I stretched out my index and middle finger, leaving the others closed as I lifted them up to my forehead. Closing my eyes, I searched for Jellal's brainwaves, but couldn't. Which means they're far from here.

"Nope. They're probably far."

Meredy breathed a sigh of relief before continuing her line of work.

Hopefully, one of those ladies won't attack. But just for safety, Jellal surrounded the cave with runes. He sure knows a lot of magic.

"Hurry up with this side!"

"Are the dishes ready?"

"Come on, it's almost nighttime, they'll be back soon!"
