(Tallica)
I could tell Hugh was worried, going into a prison with a killer vampire....one of my worst idea's yet. I was worried about him. He had been through a lot this past couple weeks and I felt like it was starting to show. His eyes were bloodshot and his face pale with black circles beneath his hollowed out eyes sockets. He talked with Benny and Milo as we pulled into the prison parking lot. The guards ran metal detectors over the truck and thank the sky, the former owner of this truck wasn't a redneck. They let us through. We parked and stepped out of the truck. We walked to the doors where they ran detectors over us again and patted us down.
I slapped the guard's hands away when he got too handsy, "Watch it, buddy."
He motioned me through with Benny, Milo, and Hugh. The handsy guard led us through the cell aisles to Zaire. One inmate sneered at me and I walked closer to Hugh, who just glared at the guy.
"Not used to the low-lives, huh?"Hugh rumbled.
"Not really," I jumped in front of him as one cell mate reached for me through the bars. "Oh my gosh."
He put his hands on my hips and heat rushed to my neck to my cheeks. "I got you," he murmured in my ear as the handsy guard let us in a room with a man chained to the table.
"I change my mind, this was a bad idea," I turned and rammed into Hugh's broad chest.
"Too late now," he turned me around and pushed me into the room. But my heels dug into the floor. Benny and Milo stayed right by the door. That's when Hugh caught sight of Zaire Rafeal. Zaire was lanky and skinny with red hair. His eyes were silver with a pierced lip and nose. Sleeves of tattoos covered his arms. He was vampire and was six hundred years old.
"Hello, Tallica Bliss," Zaire purred.
Hugh walked around me and sat at the table in front of Zaire.
"Hi, Zaire," I squeaked, staying where I was.
"So, you're the vampire," Hugh appraised him through calculating eyes.
"Werewolf," Zaire snarled, then smirked. Zaire whistles, "Stay. Good dog."
"Oh, you shouldn't have called him that. He doesn't like it," I murmured, but they ignored me.
"Bite me," Hugh sneered.
"Roll over," Zaire snapped, leaning forward.
"Play dead," Hugh smirked, head cocked to the side.
"Boom!" Milo shouted, but cowered when Zaire glared at him.
"What do you want Tallica?" Zaire glowered at me.
"I need answers," I gathered my courage. "Why are my Forester powers getting stronger?" I ignored Hugh's questioning look.
"Because, love, you're a Forester," Zaire sighed at my blank look. "You are the most powerful gifted one in the world and that comes at a cost."
"What cost?" I asked through narrowed eyes. Hugh shifted in his seat, while Benny and Milo watched from behind us. "What cost, Zaire?"
"What cost?" he scoffed. "You really have no idea why your kind was hunted into extinction, do you? You have no idea how powerful you can really be?"
"Get to the point Zaire," I demanded with sass.
"When you come into your full gift on your eighteenth full moon, you will not be able to control it. You will destroy the earth and everyone on it," Zaire studied me.
