(Tallica)
I knew what to do, and have done it before. What I couldn't get over was that my sister was actually going to kill me. I closed my eyes, waiting to be impaled by my own blood relation. My eyes popped open when I heard sizzling and a grunt of pain. Hugh's hand seized the sword blade and stopped it from penetrating my heart. He yanked it from her hand, but could not get it to drop from his hand. I moved into action, hitting my sister in the neck and kicking Sam in his boys. I reached for his hand and the stuck sword.
"No, we have to get out of here, now," he growled, wrapping his hand and the silver sword in a hoody.
I nodded and ran from the room with him on my tail. I ran down the stairs with him stumbling after me. I yanking open Milo's door and yelled, "Get up! We have to leave now!"
I ran down to the next flight of stairs with the three boys behind me and the alarm went off. "Come on, I know where they will never find us." I ran from the building and into the wolfsbane fields to the hidden tree house I built when I was fourteen. I pushed Milo and Benny up the ladder and helped Hugh into the tree house. I pulled up the ladder and turned to shut the windows. I heard a thump, and whirled around to find Hugh collapsed on the floor, blood pooling around his body. I ran to his side and dropped to my knees as my watch dinged. I glanced at it, it was at the sixty mark. I could feel Milo's eyes burning holes in my back, but I was going to do it anyways. I hurriedly worked to unwrap his hand and arm. The smell of burnt flesh filled the air and Benny turned away quickly, hand over his mouth. I gasped at the sight. The sword was embedded in his palm, and forearm. His flesh was black, sweat ran down his temple and into his blonde hair. The smell was horrific and I couldn't focus on anything. He groaned as he withered in pain, clawing at his arm. His pain brought me out of my head.
"Milo, hold him still," I focused on the earth.
"Don't you do it, Tallica," Milo threatened. "Do not do it, if you do....you will get sick."
"I have to," I pleaded as my hands grasped the sword handle. I yanked it from his skin, his skin was brittle and flaked off. He bucked Milo off and screamed. Milo slapped a hand over his mouth, and my eyes heated as I called on the plants for help. Hugh met my gaze and gasped.
"You saved her," his eyes were wide and shocked. "You brought her back to life. You brought Crystal back to life," his words faded off and his head lagged to the side.
I murmured my chant, "Earth hear my plea, take this life and give it new. With my help, heal this pain."
Vines with small white and purple flowers crept through the floorboards and wrapped around his arm, which was turning all black. A bright green light shown from his arm and I stared at it never stopping my chant. Finally, the light faded and my body sagged with exhaustion. I saw Hugh's eyes open. I wearily smiled before I fell over and welcomed the blackness.
(Hugh)
I caught Tallica and rolled her onto her back as I sat up and glanced at my arm. Healed. She was the one who saved Crystal. Her glowing green eyes gave her away. I focused and looked her over. I couldn't find anything wrong with her.
"Her watch. What does her watch say?" Milo chewed his nail.
I grabbed her wrist and read it. "Ninety."
"Oh, holy mother truckers," Milo jumped to his feet and looked out the windows. "We have to get her out of here before she-" He cut himself off, lowering the ladder to the ground.
"Before what?" I asked as Milo looked away. "Before What?!"
"Before she dies!" Milo shouted, his face pale. "Before she dies, man."
