(Hugh)

She was nervous.  Her clammy hand clutched my rough hand, but her face showed no fear.  We strode down the steps, and stopped ten feet from Chike.  His dark eyes went from my face to our hands to Tallica's face.  He smirked, then laughed.  He turned serious in a snap of someone's fingers.

"Now, this is a complicated situation," Chike sneered.  "You weren't supposed to find a mate, Tallica."

"Because you wanted to make me yours," she voiced as everything fell into place.

"Yes, and we will be unstoppable," he stepped closer.

"You can't just reverse a mate's bond," she shifted closer to my side, and I growled at being separated from her.

"Oh, yes I can," he grinned crazily.  "I can challenge him for you."

Tallica's eyes darted to mine in fear, and I squeezed her hand.

"This is part of plan," I reminded myself.

"Do you accept?" Chike coyly asked.

"I do," I spoke without a doubt.

"Do you know who I am, boy?" he questioned.  "I'm an Alpha, and a powerful one."

"I know who you are," I stated loudly.  "I will never let you have my mate."

Chike growled and his eyes lighted to yellow, mine responded to his jab at dominance.

The other werewolves formed a semi-circle around us.

"Hugh, don't do this please," Tallica begged.

"I have to," I brushed her off and stepped closer to her.

"Let me have the girl, and you will not fall to me," BlackWood tried to worm himself out of a fight.

"I will never fall to you," I growled.

"That's too bad.  You a pretty strong for one werewolf, but you are not stronger than me," he started to shift.

"Maybe," I admitted, and he stopped.  I glanced back at Tallica, and she grinned.  I turned back to Chike BlackWood, smirking.

"What are you smiling about boy?" he demanded to know.

"But...are you stronger than three?" I asked.

"Three, what? Ponies?" he sarcastically replied.

"No..." I grinned deviously.  "Alphas."

"What are you talking about?" he looked at Tallica.

"You underestimated us, and that was your first fault," Tallica motioned to the three massive werewolves slinking out of the woods on all sides.  A black, Scott, grey, Adrian, and rare white wolf,Crystal, who was smaller then the others in build, but had just as strong presence.

"And my second?" he paled as his own pack started to turn on him.

"You messed with the wrong family," she deadpanned as his pack attacked their own alpha.
