"What?" I breathed in shock.

"Foresters are ten times stronger than a werewolf on a full moon," Zaire explained.

"Doesn't it run in the family line?" I asked, crossing my arms in thought.  "Neither my mother nor grandmother were Foresters."

"It doesn't have to be a direct mother," he leaned back.

"What does that mean?" I uncrossed my arms, taking a seat by Hugh.

"Sylvia Bliss, your great-grandmother was one, and she survived the Great Hunt," Zaire shifted forward.

"Okay," I was so confused at this point.  He released a sigh and explained from the beginning.

"I met your great-grandmother in the early 1800's.  She was beautiful, and she took my heart the minute I caught sight of her.  She looked a lot like you, but brown hair and silver eyes like my own.  She was running from the Forester killers, and I offered my help.  She took it and I turned her," Zaire's distant look faded.

"Turned as in vampire turned?" Milo questioned, but we ignored him.

"But she died in the late 1890's.  It's in the records," I remembered my family tree.

"Well, since I turned her, we faked her death when people began to notice that she was not aging twenty years after they met her," he picked his finger nails.

"So, she is still alive?  She can teach Tallica how to control it?" Hugh asked, his brown eyes light.

"Sadly, no, she died a hundred years ago," Zaire swallowed hard.

"But she was vampire," I pointed out.

"Yeah genius, I know that, except she wasn't," Zaire clasped his hands on his lap, chains clicking.  "Sixty years after I turned her, she began to change back into a mortal.  Her Forester blood healed her of the vampire virus.  I left before she completed her change back into a human.  I learned later that she married and had three daughters. Your grandmother and her sisters."

"No way," I shook my head.  "Is it a coincidence that she had three daughters like my grandmother and my mother?"

"No," Zaire shook his red head of hair.  "It runs in the Forester women line."

"So, if I have kids, what's the percentage that will they will be three girls?"

"About ninety percent, and 50 percent that one will share your ability to connect with the earth," Zaire confirmed.

"Did Sylvia's daughters have it?" Milo questioned.

"None have had it until....you," Zaire cocked his head.

"When Sylvia changed back into a mortal, did she get her gift back?" I quietly asked.

"Yes, but barely, she used it as a healer, but it was not nearly as strong as what it was before," Zaire tried to explain.  "Let's say her power was a max ten, but after sixty years of her gift being suppressed, it went to a three."

"Great.  This just keeps getting better and better!  I just have to spend sixty years of my life as a blood sucker, that's just great!"  I faked a happy tone.  I turned back to Zaire to find him glaring.  "I mean, no offense to you."

"Some taken," Zaire frowned.

"One more question.  Ares Pack, who is the Alpha?" Hugh leaned forward.

"Take my advice," Zaire's face was intense.  "Stay away from him.  He's a killer."

"Says the person who was put in prison for killing over a hundred people," Milo mumbled.

"What's his name, Zaire?" I demanded, taking Hugh's side.

"Chike BlackWood," Zaire answered with reluctance.

The door opened and the handsy guard walked in.

"Tallica Bliss," he spoke in a robotic voice.  "We have been waiting on you."

"Oh mother trucker," I stared at him and sighed.  "I take it that's the Alpha?"

"You are a smart one, but your time is limited. The next full moon bring whatever it is that stops changes or your sister joins the wolf pack," the handsy guy fell to the ground and a silver snake slithered out of his mouth, disappearing through the doorway.   Benny and Milo jumped away, cussing and swearing.

"Listen," Alpha spoke in his office, having no idea that I could hear him.  "Have you made progress with the silver snakes?"

"Yes sir," a deep voice answered.  "We now have the ability to control werewolves with the silver snakes and not just mortals."

I cover my mouth in shock, thinking, "How is that possible?"

"It does affect the werewolf worse.  They die within twenty-four hours if it is not out," the lead scientist spoke.

"Well, find a way to prolong it.  If we want to use other werewolves, we need this to work, and for it to work; we need them alive for more then twenty-four hours," the Alpha ordered.

I clasped my hands over my mouth in shock as I scuttled back to the wall.  My heart pounded and my lungs felt like they were going to burst.  I knew that Tallica was working with a werewolf, who was, hopefully, Hugh, to find me.  She must have known about this technology.  It was why she made the deal, she was trying to delay his progress.  I have to find a way to contact my sisters and warn them.  If not, they would never win this war and I would never see them again.

(Hugh)

"Tallica," her green eye and blue eye met my brown ones.  "We need to leave before the guard wakes up."

"Yea, let's get out of here," she stood.  "Thank you, Zaire."

"Your welcome, darling," Zaire smiled, showing his fangs.

"Finally," Benny mumbled.

I jerked my head toward the door and Milo exited first, then Benny.  I pushed Tallica in front of me as I closed the door to Zaire's lair. We quickly left the compound, roaring away in our stolen truck.

"Do you want to tell me what the heck that snake thing was?" I asked with a calm voice, but secretly, I was shaken.

She shifted in her seat, laying her elbow on the door and putting her hands under her chin.  "It was an advanced technology that Ares Pack has been working on for years.  I knew about a year ago, but never dreamed that it would actually work.  When I saw that they were getting closer, I approached them saying that I knew how to stop their werewolf shifts.  In return, they would give me their technology.  They stopped working on it for a while, but when I was a month late on the deal.  Obviously, they began to work on it again."

"What exactly are they planning on doing with it?" I stop at a red light.

"They are going to build an army of innocent mortals," she deadpanned.
