Sana walked into the big room filled with cloth racks filled with clothes. Few people were working on their designs, some of papers while some worked on mannequins. She looked at everyone, her eyes scanning the room. Holding the papers under her arms she walked towards her table and dumped the designs. She stood behind the desk and looked at her busy team members. She cleared her throat. Everyone paused and looked at her. Sana beamed at everyone and clasped her palms tightly.
'Good morning, team. Gather around please.' She said addressing the room at large. The team members left their work and walked towards the table. Sana fidgeted with the hem of the trace papers, her eyes darting from one person to the other.
'Umm... Guys, these designs got rejected.'
As soon as Sana announced this there is a collective groan followed by murmuring. Sana watched her team members curse and call Adah by various names. She cringed. She had to clap her palms to quieten everyone. She exhaled deeply and forced a smile.
'I know, guys, we all little upset-'
'Little?'
'We are very upset.'
'Yes.
'We are working our ass off over here and Adah is just rejecting our designs.'
'This is not fair'
And before, Sana knew it the team members were out of control. Sana repeatedly asked them to relax but they kept angrily protesting. Eventually, she held her forehead. Everyone has such sophisticated and graceful team members, but Sana has been given a difficult team. The loud voices muffled Sana's meek voice. Sana looked haphazardly at everyone, requesting them to relax. And then...
'SILENCE.' Everyone froze.
Sana turned her head to the source of the voice and is relieved on seeing Adah standing by the door, her assignment, a young blonde girl, closely behind her. Adah glared at everyone, her gaze resting on Sana. She lowered her head in shame but felt Adah's piercing gaze on her. Adah stood beside Sana and ordered everyone to get to work, she also scolded them for being unprofessional and whiny. After everyone had dispersed, Adah turned to face Sana and she quickly lowered her head again.
'What is this, Sana?' She spoke in a relatively softer tone, - 'You are heading a team, you are a leader, but you can't control your own team? You can't be a softie on them. Be strong-- Be a bitch. Okay?' She advised her, and Sana nodded her head.
Sana used to be feisty back in school days, maybe her step-father brought the anger in her. That motivation was missing here in London. Sana sighed and turned to face the hall, everyone had gotten to work. She lowered her head and unfolded one sheet of paper. She stared at the design, observing it carefully.

After the day's work, around 6 pm, Sana packed her stuff and left her cabin. On the way, she met Emma who had completed her shift as well. They smiled at each other. Emma walked up to her and asked, - 'Hey, wanna grab something? Pizza?' The teen asked. Sana smiled tilting her head little and responded.
'Na, not Pizza. My yoga instructor will fire on me.' She thought for a while and said, - 'Coffee? Or Tea?'
Emma thought for a while, - 'Tea.' She grinned and added, - 'How can a British refuse Tea?'
Sana smiled and adjusted the sling of her bag on her elbow, - 'How can an Indian refuse Tea, either?'
Emma and Sana met one year back and somehow really clicked with each other. Sana is also friendly with Michael, Emma's boyfriend. He goes to college with Emma and he too works part-time as a waiter in a coffee joint to support his studies. Sana really admired their passion for their studies.
