I fell asleep sitting next to John’s temporary crib. The nurse came in and tapped my shoulder.

“Mr.Porter, John is free to go home.”

She trotted off and went on to her next patient.

I sat up and stretched. Home? I’ve been living in a hotel for awhile now and I can’t bring John home without Grace. I pulled out my phone and texted Maddie

“Come watch John for awhile :)”

Less then 30 seconds later Maddie burst through the door.

I grabbed my keys.

“I’ll be back in an hour.”

I went to Baby depot in search of a crib. I was going to keep John in Grace’s hospital room until she woke up.

I bought a crib and some other necessities that the baby would need over the next couple of days. I was honestly glad that I had Maddie because I honestly know nothing about babies and she really helped me. I would text her with questions and she would give me extremely detailed answers.

“Thank you for all of the help. I’m checking out and I’ll be back at the hospital soon” I texted Maddie.

“ID please sir” the cashier said to me.

I handed her my drivers license and her face lit up.

“Zach Porter? Like the Zach Porter from Allstar Weekend? I love your band! But what are you doing? Do you have a baby? That’s bad, I thought you were good. This is weird seeing you in a baby supply store. Do you like cribs? Is that why your buying one. I think that your so cute and…”

I let her babble for a bit before I finally stepped in

“Hey can you just ring me up please, I need to hurry.”

I got back to the hospital to see Maddie watching over John asking him silly questions like he was able to respond.

“Maddie I think we might have a problem”

“What the store was out of cribs?” She said laughing over her words.

“No, I think a fan just found out about John”
