A blessing in disguise

One

“Grace can you please hurry up, I refuse to be late to this concert!” My best friend Maddie shouted from the doorway.

“Sure, sure almost done” I said as I was putting the finishing touches on my make up.

Tonight is the night I will finally meet Allstar Weekend, of course I wanted to be on time but I also wanted to look my best.

Soon we were in the car on our way to the venue. A car ride before a concert is like riding on a roller coaster, you know something exciting is about to happen and your stomach is filled with butterflies.

“Take that one! It looks like a good spot” I shouted in attempt to help Maddie park the car. I can’t believe how crowded the venue is.

“I remember when 10 people would show up to their concert and now look, we can barley find parking. This is beyond crazy”

“What are you talking about? This is your first time seeing them” Maddie questioned.

“Oh shut up Mads, you know I run a blog dedicated to them, I know a lot about their growing fan base” I said trying to add some humor to my already dumb comment.

She raised an eyebrow about to add a sarcastic comment, but I guess she decided she better let it pass.

The opening acts were all really good. Mads and I stood in the back of the packed venue and even though we couldn’t see much we still danced and sang our hearts out. After about an hour it was the boy’s time to go on stage. I pulled out my phone and tweeted

“The boys are on stage!! Super excited to hear them live for the first time”

I quickly put my phone away and sang along to All the way.

Zach seemed a bit off to me. He sang fine, but he stumbled and had a hard time speaking. I just brushed it off and continued to sing along.

After the concert ended we decided to head to the merch table and talk to Greg for a bit.

“Hi, how are you?” I asked trying to start conversation

“Good, you?”

“I’m amazing considering I just saw Allstar Weekend live for the first time. I've been a fan for a few years now and every time the boys would come to our state , it ended up being bad timing for me” I sighed after spitting all of that out in less then 30 seconds.

“Wow, that’s amazing! Glad you enjoyed the concert. Have you ever met the boys?”

“Nope, never”

He obviously saw my face drop when I responded.

“How would you like to meet them?”

My heart started to race. “What are you kidding me?! I would love too!!”

“Alright follow me then.”

He lead us down a long hallway backstage. I made sure to observe everything because I never wanted to forget a single detailed. I grabbed on to Mad’s hand as we entered the room.
