5 weeks without John. 5 weeks without Zach. I’m miserable. I lost the two most important people in my life. Cameron has been a great help the past couple of weeks. He has been my personal chef, my taxi driver and over all, a good friend.

Tonight we’re going to a party to get out minds of things. At first I didn’t like this idea. I’m not really a party type of girl. In fact I’ve never gotten the chance to go to a party since I was pregnant at the age of 16.

I slipped on a form fitting black dress. The sides had openings that reminded my of flames. I had to dig through a pile of clothes in the closet to find a pair of red heels. After slipping them on. I went over to the mirror and put light pink lip stick on. I ruffled my hair and fixed my part. I sighed and walked over to the door. I shut the light off and turned around to look into the darkness. Oh how my life has changed in these past 2 years. John was truly a blessing in disguise.

When I got outside Cameron was already in the car, I opened the door and plopped down in the passenger seat.

“You look nice.” He said while giving me a once over.

“Thanks.” I managed to reply even though I was uncomfortable.

The party was a couple of blocks away, so it took only a few minutes to get there. When we pulled up you could see a huge mess of drunk people walking around. There was toilet paper hanging from the tree branches, red cups littered on the ground, and confetti everywhere. I gave Cameron an unsure look, but he returned with a reassuring smile. I trusted his judgment and got out of the car.

While Cameron mingled I stood off to the side near the refreshments table. I went to high school with most of the people at this party, so there was a lot of familiar faces. One girl named Tammy approached me and told me how sorry she was for my loss. I wanted to keep my mind of John and I could feel myself panicking again. I quickly grabbed a red cup off the table next to me. A few seconds after I took a sip of the drink my throat began to burn. Vodka. I know that drinking at this age is illegal, but I honestly need to loose myself tonight.

I’m not positive how much I drank, I lost count after 4 cups. I stumbled across the room to find Cameron. When I found him I strode up to him and latched onto his shoulder. I pushed him against the wall and rubbed my hand against his thigh. I stood on my toes and brushed his ear with my lips. “Let’s dance” I whispered.

I could tell Cameron has been drinking as well tonight because he was acting out of character. For starters he didn’t object to me hitting on him. He also was very controlling when we danced. When a fast paced song blasted through the speaks he firmly grabbed my hips and spun me around. I put my hands up in the air and moved my hips to the beat. Cameron’s body was pressed up against mine. I could feel him breathing down my neck. His sweaty palms moved their way from my hips to my lower abdomen, he rubbed his hands up and down in a soothing motion.

After another hour or so Cameron and I stumbled into the spare bedroom. After the door closed, Cameron pushed me up against the wall. Our sweaty bodies pressing up against each other. I could feel Cameron’s chest move every time he took a breath. I met his gaze and instantly got locked in his green eyes.

“Grace, I.. I have something to confess.” He said with a serious face.

I wasn’t paying attention, I was still moving my hips to the music. I grabbed my matted and sweating hair between my palms.

“I love you.” He said desperately.

I ignored him and continued dancing to the music.

He moved closer, so close that our hip bones met each other. This made me stop dancing and I was forced to make eye contact again. I leaned forward and press the top of my forehead to his. I looked down at our lips, they were so close. The hairs on my upper lips stood up, my palms were sweating, and my heart was pumping. I pressed my lips to his. Our warm lips melted together in a swift motion. As the kiss became more intense I grabbed the back of his neck and hoisted myself up. I wrapped my legs around his waist and tightened my thigh muscles. I pulled back from the kissed and met his gaze again. This time I gave him a wink.

He smiled at me and pulled me off the wall. He walked us over to the bed and dropped me down. His lips connected with my collarbone. I shifted around in my dress, pulling it over my head. I unbuttoned his shorts and threw them on the ground next to us. My sweaty palms slipped with a tried to grab his neck to bring him closer. He smiled and moved closer to my body.
