Chapter 1 (Part 1)

Chapter 1:

Catherine’s POV

 

“Never ever thought I’d see it break

“Wow,” say Emma, my best friend and roommate. “You get more amazing every time!”

“Thanks Em!”

“Ready to upload?”

“Yup!”

I log into my account and waited for the video to finish loading. I absentmindedly scroll down my other covers to see the views. Then I scream.

“EMMA! MY 5 SECONDS OF SUMMER COVER OF DON’T STOP GOT 2,000,000 VIEWS!” I cry.

“Oh my gosh! It’s time to celebrate! I’ll take you out after your performance!” says Emma.

“Oh yeah! I forgot I had a performance.” I mentally slap my head. “What time is it?”

 “It is at 9:30 sharp, they need you there a little early for sound check”

                I grab my guitar and make my way to the room to pick out an outfit. My closet is overflowing but somehow I manage to find the right outfit: a floral above the knee strapless sundress with strappy wedges and a beanie. Before long, Emma and I are in the car and driving towards the club.

                The club is huge, and at first I am nervous but I have to remind myself that this is what I love. My dark wood acoustic sounds great with the acoustics of the club, and Emma said that I was fabulous and I know she would never lie to me. As I position myself in the right spot on stage, Emma gives me thumbs up and disappears in the crowd. I take a deep breath and begin my set.

“This song is for all the girls that have been through a relationship that was toxic and knew it all along,” I say.

“Once upon a time a few mistakes ago

As I finish the last note, the crowd goes wild! I wait until the cheering ends to start my next song.

“This next song is a cover of my favorite band 5 Seconds of Summer. This is their song ‘She Looks so Perfect’, but I will do an acoustic version.”

I start the song and my eyes wander into the eyes of …..

Emma! She looks really excited for some reason, which I am guessing I will soon find out why.
