Everything Broken (A 5SOS Fanfiction)

Chapter 13

Catherine's POV: 

        My hands are shaking and I'm pretty sure I'm sweating through my shirt. It seems like just another concert to everybody else, so I don't think they're fazed by my nerves. Little do they know, what I'm going to do changes my friendships and relationships with this band. Last night, even Emma was awkward around me. Everybody except Luke is acting strange around me. Calum won't even look me in the eyes, which is good, because I've been sending him death glares all day. Before I get on the stage, I give myself a small pep talk and reassure myself that what I'm about to do is right.

        When I get onto the stage, the audience cheers, and, when it dies down, I swallow and speak. "This is a song I wrote about someone special in my life. Right now, things aren't really the way they should be, but I hope this changes things." I begin my song, and, towards the middle, I start to cry. I can't stop, so I continue on and let the tears flow. 

        After my set, I run out and hide in the bathroom, crying my eyes out. I hear the door open, and footsteps shuffle in. The only person who wears those bright purple pumps is Emma. 

        "Catherine, it's me. Open up." She pleads. When I don't reply, she takes off her shoes and jimmies herself under the stall. "Nice try, but when it comes to these things, I'm an expert." 

        "It's just that, when Calum kissed me, I couldn't push away and," Before I can finish my sentence, Emma shushes me and replies.

        "I know. Luke told us the truth. I'm sorry I didn't believe you." Emma then starts to sniffle. Soon, we're both crying and hugging each other until yet another pair of feet shuffle into the room. I can hear Mikey's voice.

        "Look, Catherine, Ashton's really sorry. We're all sorry. I mean, Emma told me how hard you had it, and, we were unfair." Emma opens the stall, completely ignoring the fact that he was in the restroom wth us, and brings us three into a group hug. "And when Luke told us about Calum, we really let him have it. He feels bad too." Mikey finishes. We stand there for a minute. Then, Emma puts back her shoes, grabs Mikey's hand, and then mine, and we head out together.

        I hear a voice at the end of the hall. It sounds like Ashton. "Please, just tell me where you saw her. I need to see her." His voice is cracking, and it sounds like he's talking to a security guard. When his eyes meet mine, we both run at the same time into each others arms. When we finally collide, I whisper into his ear, "Thank you."

        Then, he whispers to me, "Don't thank me, it was my fault for not trusting you. I'm so sorry."

        We stay in this hug until he grabs my hand and we make our way back to the bus.

The Next Day:

Emma's POV:

        I'm scrolling through YouTube when I see a video on the popular list that has 5 Seconds of Summer in the title. Interested, I click on it, and I'm surprised to see it was the two girls we met a little while ago.  They were doing a small introduction, .

        'Hey everyone! My name is Saphire and this is Jennifer. We love 5 Seconds of Summer and singing, so we thought we'd do a little parody of Heartbreak Girl. This is called Heartbreak Band! Enjoy!
