- H-Hi, my name's H-Hinata.Said the girl next to Temari as she turned her head, eyeing the pale girl who smiled at her in a friendly way.
- Temari.
- Nice to meet you. H-Hope we'll get along.
Temari nodded, not sure what to reply. She wasn't the one with words. But she was glad that Hinata didn't take her as some kind of freak, which she thought was what would probably happen.
The teacher told them to open their books as he wrote down today's lesson on the board. During the class, Temari started to realize that her new class was a lot harder than the old one. Kakashi – sensei was a quick talker much to her dislike, and for around each 2 minutes, she heard something else that she didn't even know the meaning of. She found herself giving her all to catch every word her teacher was saying, and even though she heard it, she didn't quite understand it. Temari knew she was gonna have a hard time this semester.
When the teacher gave them work to do, and sat back down with his orange book in one hand, she looked around the class and noticed a few things. The kids were the only thing that had no difference from her old school. The first row kids are the nerds, which she was back home. Around middle were the likes of her, who were scratching the back of their heads, looking at their notebook in frustration, and at the back, the cheerleaders and some freaky boys who all seemed to be focusing on their phone screens below the table.
She took a glimpse of the boy who she thought was a teacher. Just by the thought of it, she had to fight the urge to face palm once more. Certainly, he thought she was some newbie weirdo. His head rested on his arm comfortably as his back moved swiftly in motion, indicating the boy was in deep sleep. His spiky ponytail looked a bit messier than it was in the morning, and his face looked peaceful like he had nothing to worry about in this world. A girl sitting next to him nudged him on the shoulder as he let out a big yawn, and opened his eyes.
The brown orbs clashed with teal ones once again, and that's when she finally realized she was staring. Her head turned almost immediately to the board, as she was trying to look like studying the complicated things written there, but in truth, she didn't even got the hang of it.
She didn't like him looking at her in the eye, because it made her feel like an open diary.
The warm yet piercing gaze looked right through her. And she didn't like it one bit.
She frustratingly stared empty at the board again. She wanted to ask from her teacher, but the only question she was capable of finding was "What is all this crap?" and of course she didn't dare to say it out loud.
Hinata looked at her new seating mate, and by her eyes looking at the board over and over again, she knew the girl needed help.
- Hey, umm... Temari, right? D-Do you need help with t-these?
Hinata asked, her hand pointing to the board.
Yes please! Temari wanted to reply.
- No, it's okay, I'll manage.
- O-Okay. If you say so.
She could hear a small pout from behind her as she unconsciously turned her head but regretted. Now very familiar pair of dark brown orbs were looking in her direction, looking rather bored. The moment her teal ones met his, that uncomfortable feeling filled inside her body again as she looked away.
When the sandy blonde turned her back on him, Shikamaru thought about rolling his eyes, but was somehow too lazy to do so. It's weird how he's not lazy enough to overthink too much, but too lazy to move his eyes. But as he, himself explains it, it's unconditional that the thoughts just flow inside his head.
