Chapter 2

- You were eavesdropping, weren't you?

- Hey, it's called public place.

She sighed.

- Let's get to class.

- You go.

- Why? I thought you liked Gym?

- I sneaked into Guy's room and saw his lesson plan. He's gonna make us run like freaking animals today. I don't wanna be the one to take a bunch of kids to the nurse.

- Aren't you gonna fail if you keep skipping the classes you don't wanna attend?

- Yeah but for Gym, I'm on the team. I think I'm alright.

She nodded, trying to understand why she didn't want him to skip the class. Because she was being insecure all over again despite her hard work over the years? She would like not to think it that way.

- See you in Chemistry.

Well he wasn't wrong. She was hoping he would be when it started pouring but apparently for Guy-sensei, a little rain should be nothing. She knew the whole class was gonna be sick by tomorrow and she didn't like the idea of everyone around her constantly coughing and having a nose problem, spreading the germs. She felt like a jerk thinking that way about it, but it's just so goddamn annoying. Just like how she was to her dad with her constant depression, being a weakling that cannot get over her mom. She wondered if she still annoys the people around her with her own sickness.

Kids had to run in circuit, circling the whole school which was quite big and after about 4 laps, most of the kids started to give up but of course, Guy-sensei didn't let that happen. But what he couldn't stop was fainting. And because she was one of the ones in lead, Guy-sensei basically threw a kid who was wearing glasses that were bigger than his face at her, motioning her to the infirmary. As she was holding onto the boy, sighing to no one in particular, she finally understood why Shikamaru didn't want to be here.

- Hey, should I help you? – said a boy who appeared in front of her.

- I mean, isn't he a bit too heavy for a girl?

She scoffed on the inside, knowing she could probably kill him in seconds if she wants to. But over the years her past short-tempered, easily taken offense self really had learnt to be patient for her own good. It's true that they say pain is the greatest teacher.

He was a tall boy who had one of those long "emo" hair and an emotionless expression that reminded her of Sasuke, she knew she's seen him before but had no idea what his name was. Probably one of her classmates she didn't care enough to learn about.

- It's okay, I got it. – she tried to say in a polite manner, knowing the kid was probably just looking out to her.

- Temari, right?

She just wanted to get this over with but the route to the infirmary was ridiculously slim and she didn't want to step on the wet dirt with her Gym shoes. But she couldn't make her way with her helper towering in front of her.

- Yeah. Now if you'd move out of the way...

- I don't think we've met. Properly at least. I'm Utakata.

- Ok? Now Utakata, you're blocking the route. Would you mind stepping aside?

- Really? Ok? No 'nice to meet you'?
