Chapter 1. Interrogation.
- Hello, Ms. Sabaku. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but I hope you understand that this had to be done on my part.
- Of course.
- Your full name is Temari No Sabaku, and you've come to Konoha on August 29th, right before school started along with your two siblings, Gaara and Kankuro No Sabaku, is that correct? – Shikaku asked whilst typing furiously on his computer and Temari had no idea what it was that he was typing.
- Yes, that's correct.
- Your birthdate?
- Year 2000, August 23rd.
- Siblings'?
- Gaara, year 2003, January 19th. Kankuro, year 2002, May 15th.
- Parents?
- Rasa and Karura No Sabaku.
- Their whereabouts?
Temari gulped but kept a straight face.
- Dead.
- Is Rasa No Sabaku the one who was the 4th kazekage of Sunagakure? – Shikaku asked, he too keeping his straight face.
- Yes, he's the one.
- So if you're the former kazekage's daughter, I'm sure they wouldn't kick you out?
- They didn't.
- So you left on your own decision?
- Yes.
- Why did you come to Konoha specifically?
- I've heard that my mom helped this village a lot in times of needs when she was alive. The house that we're living in was addressed directly to her name. It was a gift. I was rather surprised when I found out that they hadn't removed it after all these years. The hokage sure have a big heart.
For the first time in the interrogation, Shikaku looked at her with his eyebrows raised.
- The hokage himself have addressed a house under your last name?
- Yes, that is correct.
- I will make sure of that. – he said and continued to type on the computer.
Meanwhile Temari looked around the room. The small room had exactly two chairs and one desk as its furniture. One of the chairs, the one she was sitting in looked like it was ready to break if she moved too carelessly. The walls were dark grey that might've once been white. The single light bulb that was directly on top of her head didn't seem trustworthy. She was ready to jump just in case it dropped.
Shikaku wondered to himself why he didn't think about checking where she was staying. The whole Akatsuki thing probably distracted him from anything else.
The Sabakus had the Hokage's blessing, that's why he didn't seem to care.
- Ok then, Ms. Sabaku, this makes things way easier. But I do have other concerns.
- Is it related to me being allowed to stay here?
- No, but...
- Then thank you, Mr. Nara. Have a good day.
