I sat at the kitchen table, still nervous. Dean had tried talking to me, asking me what's wrong. I told him it was nothing. after a while he stopped trying and turned on the radio, playing a game on his phone. I sat. and waited. my nerves were shot-probably by a shotgun-, and I could do nothing but pace back and forth in the kitchen. Your guardian angel by the red jumpsuit apparatus came on the radio and that only reminded me that Dean, unlike most guys, wasn't going anywhere. so this shouldn't matter. but he said he only wanted to take a break from traveling and hunting. what if he did decide to leave? what if he only came back to visit every few months? I chewed on my lip and stared out the sliding glass door out to the lake. Dean came up behind me and I hugged me. I didn't relax from my tense position but I didn't push him away either. finally, the door opened and Cara walked in, straight to the bedroom. I jumped away from Dean and followed her. Dean tried to come in behind us but Cara pushed his nose out.

"sorry, got to have a girl chat." she said. "and don't eavesdrop either, mister. i'll kick your ass." he put his hands up in surrender and walked back to the kitchen, plopping down and eating some pie Cara had made. she turned back to me after closing the door and handed me the plastic bag from walmart. I opened it to see two pregnancy tests. I took one and went into the bathroom, using it. I came out and showed Cara. she looked at me.

"should I be happy or sad about this, sister?" she asked. we were cousins but we often joked that the only reason we weren't twins was because neither of our moms could've handled both of us.

"I don't know." I said honestly. "on one hand, I'm thrilled, but on the other hand... what if he leaves me, Cara?" I looked at her with tears in my eyes at the thought.

"if he leaves, i'll kick his ass to the moon and back." she shook her head. I looked at her, with watery eyes.

"i'll go get him." she said, then left the room. Dean walked in a few seconds later and looked at me. he saw the tears falling and rushed over to sit next to me and wipe them from my cheeks.

"I knew something wasn't right. what's wrong?" he asked. I pulled the test from under a towel I had used to clean my hands and showed him. his eyes brightened, then they turned confused. he looked at me.

"why are you crying about this?" he asked, his eyes hard. more tears escaped my eyes.

"because I'm scared you'll leave me because of it." my voice cracked even though I tried so hard to keep it from doing that. his eyes softened and he hugged me. I sobbed, soaking his shoulder.

"babe, I'd never leave you over this. real men don't leave when this happens." he spoke softly, running his hands through my hair. "I would never leave you anyways. you're the part of me I've been looking for Sara." I sobbed again but this time in joy. I walked out to the kitchen with Dean to find Cara.

"Cara? I need your help I-" a confetti canon went off over my head and it all showered down to land in my hair and on Dean's shoulders. I looked at her and laughed. she giggled with me and Dean chuckled.

"I need some ideas for how to announce it." I told her. she clapped her hands and hopped over to me, finding a notepad and pen. she turned on her computer and went to pinterest. Dean and I considered her suggestions but then decided to come up with our own, special way to announce it. we took the notepad and pen and started writing down ideas.

I logged out of facebook and Dean hugged my shoulders from where he was standing behind me. I had written on my page, tagging my parents grandparents and most of my friends and family that I was going to have a party on the farm. I asked Dad to make the barn open enough to put in tables. he didn't know what was going on, but he was busy so instead he told Dean how to do it and that Dave could help, showing him where to put everything. I walked downstairs and couldn't find the thing I was craving. chips. French fries would work too. so instead I looked for Sam.

"hey Sam!" I called. he looked up from the article he was reading on his laptop and smiled.

"what's up Sara?" he asked.

"I want some French fries. can you go to town with me and get some?" I asked, putting my elbows on the table and my chin in my hands.

"but I'm reading this-" he said. he looked at me and I put the most pitiful look in my eyes. I could see him trying to resist it.

"fine." he said, getting up and shutting is laptop. he picked up from the table and put it on top of the fridge so none of my siblings got to it. I got into the truck dad was letting me and Sam drive around and Sam got into the driver's seat. he started it and there was a knock on my window. I looks to see Dean with his eyebrows raised. I rolled down the window.

"where are you going?" he asked, looking at me in specific.

"just to town."

"why?" he frowned.

"I wanted some French fries so I started looking for chips because they're basically the same thing and then when I couldn't find them, I asked Sam to go with me to get some French fries because I really want some French fries." I took a deep breath and Dean laughed.

"ok." he chuckled, glancing at my belly. he walked back to the barn and Sam put it in gear, backing up then driving down the drive towards town.
