CLARY POV
"That's Veronica," I mumble at Jace. I look back at the blonde girl that caught Jace's eye. Kaelie ran towards her.
"Veronica! What shade of purple should I go with for your party tomorrow? Lilac or wisteria?" Kaelie asks.
"Oh! Go with pink punch with strawberry lace" Veronica says.
"Thanks!" She says. Veronica blows a kiss at her and walks to her locker which is next to mine.
"Oh Clary" she pouts. "You've gotten worse since the end of school." She says. Then she starts to open her locker. "You know Clary, Every girl has the right to be ugly, but you totally abused the privilege!" She says as she keeps unlocking her locker.
"Thanks," I mumble. I look at Jace. And slam my locker angrily as I wake him up from his daydream. Veronica looks over at Jace.
"Hi," she says. I stalk away as I go to my class. I sit down roughly. I grab my sketchbook and start to sketch angrily.

JACE POV
"You look new...you want to come to my party? It's tomorrow at 8:30" she says smiling.
"Um...yeah but, why...why did you say that to Clary?" I ask.
"What? That she's ugly? Have you seen her? She's terrifyingly ugly..."Veronica says. "Poor girl doesn't even look human" I frown at Veronica.
"Yeah, I'll pass on the party.." i say I start to go towards my class. I look back at Veronica. "By the way, it really is sad you can't photoshop your ugly personality" I say. Verónicas jaw drops to the floor. I go to class and sit down.

JACE POV
I sigh and lie down on the soft grass. I've been trying to get Clary to talk to me, but she won't, she'll just keep sketching. I tried to see what she was sketching, but she hissed at me. "Oh, look! It's a bird!" I say. "Oh wait....no that's a flying pine cone" I say as I see it fall. Into a little boys hands. He and a girl have been throwing it back and forth since we got here. "Why are you so mad Clary?" I ask. "Are you jealous about Veronica?" I ask. Her angry strokes stop for a second. Then she keeps sketching. I gasp. "You are?!" I ask. Clary glares at me. "You are!" I say laughing. I see her cheeks heat up. "Clary...you shouldn't be jealous of Veronica" I laugh.
"I'm not jealous! Or you know what! Maybe I am!" She starts I want to stop her, but I know that if I do, she'll stop talking again. "Jace! Do you know for how many years Veronica has bullied me?! First i was just plain ugly, then I was four eyes, then I was brace face and now...I'm the headgear girl! And it really annoys me how you just looked at her like that because....I don't want you to get close to her because then I'll have to get away from you and i don't want to do that! And it's really hard to make friends when I'm so ugly! Ok Jace! That's the reality of things! And you're an amazing friend and i Can't.....I can't lose you.." she says.
