I froze in horror. My eyes widened and Charlie must have noticed it too.

"I know, right? It is hideous. But what can I do? It's a family name." she said.

"That is a very....um....unique name", I said. My curious mind created questions that I couldn't even think about. What if all of this goes back to Charlie? I mean, I received the package the exact day I met her first. However, why would she send me something like that? I'm pretty sure it's not her but a member of her family.

"Hey, Weird question; Do you know someone named DeVichiria?" I asked her.

She let out a chuckle and replied, "Deevee what?". I replied, "Never mind it's nothing".

As we walked towards our class, I could hear a dangling sound following us. It sounded like a necklace or a bracelet with beads in it. "Do you hear that?" I asked Charlie.

"It's this stupid necklace; my mom said I have to wear it because it was a family heirloom. She said it meant a lot to our ancestors so we must respect it too. I thought it looked cute and paired it with my outfit but it wouldn't stop making that noise" Charlie replied, irritated.

I looked at the necklace and froze in horror for the second time. She was wearing the necklace; THE necklace. The one with the symbol on it. "It's hideous, isn't it?" Charlie asked worriedly. "No, I think it's actually kind of cute" I replied.

Cute but definitely very mysterious. I think if I will tell Charlie about the frame, she might know something about it. It obviously came from someone in her family. She also said that the necklace with the symbol on was a family heirloom. So the frame might be an heirloom too. I decided to tell her about it during lunch. She seemed nice but not very trustworthy, so I decided not to tell her that it came from someone in her family. Maybe I would trust her more if she told me that she was a freaking werewolf. Talking to her seemed like walking on eggshells. One wrong move and I would have already said too much. I got to be careful about giving her the information about the frame.

I rushed into the class and found a seat. Thankfully Mr. Cage hasn't arrived yet. Charlie sat beside me as it was the only vacant seat available in the class. I couldn't pay attention no matter how hard I tried. I was wondering whether I should tell Charlie the details or not.

During lunch, I had to sit with Charlie because I had no one else to sit with and also to ask her about the frame. We started off by talking about random stuff.

"Hey, why did you ask me something about that Deedee girl this morning?" she asked out of the blue.

"Firstly, her name is DeVichiria. Secondly, I got a package a few days ago from someone named DeVichiria. I just thought maybe she was someone you knew" I said.

"Why did you think that I would know some random person?"Charlie asked.

"I don't know. Maybe she is a....um... a local?" I said with an awkward smile.

"Nope. None that I know of. What did you get anyways?" She added.

"I...um..got a picture frame" I said. "Cool. Maybe she was your family or something. What is so special about this frame anyways? It's just a plain old frame, right?" she asked.

"It was definitely old but not plain. It seemed antique. Plus there are these weird markings on the back; like writing. But I couldn't understand anything.", Oops, I have already said too much. I just can't contain my excitement when I talk about this stuff. I should stop; I should seriously stop now.

"Did you try a translator website? " she asked.

"Yeah, that was the first thing I did. Nothing came up. The language must be ancient or something. But that isn't even the strange part. The writings were sealed at first. A piece of paper was stuck to the back panel that I didn't even notice at first but then water seeped through it at the glue that stuck the paper to the back panel gave up and only then the markings were visible", What am I doing? I can't give her this much information. I have to stop.

"I guess it was some kind of old scripture and nothing more," I said bluntly.

I wanted to avoid eye contact because I clearly cannot answer any of her questions regarding the frame. Her face looked like she was thinking deeply. I left her to it and looked around the cafeteria. The girl who had shoved me was sitting at one of the tables there.

"But.." Charlie started. I cut her off by "That girl, that girl in the black shirt. She was the one who pushed me the other day".

"Really? That is Ruby. Ruby...." I cut her off again by saying, "How dare she? She must go to this school too. Doesn't she know anything about manners? I am going to teach her a lesson about karma." I snapped.

"Kate! Mind your words" Charlie snapped.

"Why? Why should I?"I asked with an expression of anger.

"Because Ruby is my sister," Charlie replied.

Finally, a chapter after a long time.

I will be posting regularly throughout summer.
